Great Breakfasts Too

The Fox & Goose is a Sacramento icon establishment that has been around for more than the 30 years I've been going there. It's always a great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or just for a game of darts with a pint. Lots of charm and atmosphere. We were recently in the area and stopped... read more

This is a relaxed place and we love to go for appetizers and drinks. Favorite choice is the appetizer combo for about $8.50 which includes Cajun chicken strips (spicy), excellent fried zucchini, and banger rolls (my fave!). We often order with BBC Fries, which are sliced potatoes topped with spicy vegetarian black bean chili, mild cheddar, and sour cream. Yum!... More

We've been coming to Fox & Goose for at least twenty years, and while we no longer are regulars because we've moved 25 miles away and no longer work Downtown Sacramento, we still love to go here whenever we're in the area. It's still one of the very best breakfast restaurants in Sacramento, starting with the wonderful scones ($2.95). Put... More

We visited on a Sunday morning for brunch. Parking was limited so plan accordingly. Once inside, it was very busy and loud. The bar is the first thing you encounter. We were seated within 15 minutes. The service was good, the food average. I had Eggs Benedict, my husband had corned beef hash. Both were ok, but I've had better.... More

Walk in and it feels like your in an English Pub complete with bangers and Guinness. They offer a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Lunch and dinner feature English favorites such as Shepard's Pie, pasties and bangers. There are American selections available as well. This is a great place to meet friends and share a meal or pint. Prices are... More

The ambience is spot on English Pub. The food is definitely what you would find in an English pub, and the prices are better than IHOP. I typically go for breakfast. The food quality is very high. I like high protein and meat, but you can bring your vegetarian friends and they would appreciate it. The prices are amazing. Most... More

Jonesing for Irish breakfast after very early flight into Sacramento and decided without hesitation F&G was the place.... me, and about 1,000 other early risers. The wait speaks for itself! Allow plenty of time for the queue; there was a free coffee station for those on the list. I opted to stand at the bar for a mimosa and was... More

I've been here for breakfast and lunch - always enjoyed my meal and the menu has a great variety of offerings. Located in an area that is becoming a draw for art and artists, so take a little extra time and walk around outside a bit.

Went to Fox & Goose around 7 pm on a Tuesday for dinner. We didn’t know Tuesday is Trivia Night and were seated in the bar area because all the tables in the large dining room were taken. I was there for the Fish & Chips, and my date wanted to try the Vegetarian Pasty. The bar area was noisy... More

Picked this restaurant based on suggestions from local customers for a business lunch. We were a party of 6 and the environment, the food, the service were perfect for a relaxed lunch. The portions were quite big and I was only able to go through half of my fish and chips order. Service was prompt with the right amount of... More
