Great food and service

Great service and food. The waiter was able to answer all our questions and was very cheerful. I had the calzone, it was excellent and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Recommend

I visited Pizza Rock while traveling for business and was blown away by the delicious pizza! Whatever kind of pizza you like, deep dish, New York, Chicago, Detroit, they have it with an amazing assortment of toppings to try with it. I was with a local and told to try the local favorite, the Sacramento, and could not have loved... More

I went in thinking this was going to be great. With firebrick ovens and in Downtown, it sounded good. Well, we got there after they closed down th firebrick ovens. Darn! So they baked it in the regular oven. Not too tasty. Also ordered brussel sprouts (yes, I'm on a crazy diet) that were too crunchy for my taste. The... More

I heard a feature on NPR about Tony Gemignani's victory at a prestigious world pizza chef competition in Italy. Then I realized that Gemignani had opened a pizza restaurant in Sacramento not long ago. I had to check it out, and I was not disappointed. Pizza Rock has the trendy, loud atmosphere of a tourist trap like the Hard Rock... More

I tried this place because I really love pizza and I like to try as many different places as I can to see the different ways that people prepare it. I love the customer service, and I love the decor and layout of the place. The only thing is, the Pizza really isn't good, I thought that the taste was... More

Went in for an early dinner after traveling to Sacramento by train. The service was good, and the pizza was quite good as well. The quatro formaggio was not your typical 4 cheese blend, and very tasty. The pizza was the perfect size for 2 to share for dinner. The pizza was a bit slow coming out.. But I chalked... More

Visited twice in one week. First visit was told by the hostess there would be a five to ten minute wait. This was at 11:35 am. There were plenty of open tables. We told her we didnt want a high bar table because we were short. After our ten minute wait, she proceeded to take us to a high bar... More

Just had dinner with 13 friends at Pizza Rock in diwntown Sacramento near the convention center on 4/18/15; Once we got past the Nazi hostess, who told us we'd have a 90+ min wait and spoke witha manager, we sat at the 3 vacant tables on the patio and had a great meal: Pizza, salad and they even had Gluten... I've eaten at alot of different pizza places in my 30 years. This place is just ok. Between the overpriced food and overpriced beer selection associated with most of downtown sacramento I'd rather choose some other places. The one redeeming quality for this place is their sunday brunch. The breakfast pizzas are awesome and bottomless mimosa combo means Uber gets... More

It was late, I was hungry, and there were not many places open so I decided to give Pizza Rock a shot. Having spent lots of time in NYC and Chicago, I'm pretty much a pizza snob. I was blown away by Pizza Rock. These folks are not kidding around - the range of selections on the menu, the multiple... More
