Good food, good atmosphere

The Grange Restaurant offers fine dining in a pleasant atmosphere in downtown Sacramento. The food was darn good and the service was equal of better. My only "concern" was that for $11, the specialty cocktails could have a little more alcohol in them. They probably poured a 1 ounce shot. I'm old... read more

Recently reviewed in Sacramento Bee, we called for reservations. When we arrived , used "valet parking"(will put on your food bill"). Escorted to our table with no wait. Restaurant was not full. Ample room between tables, high ceilings, comfortable seating.menu printed daily to accommodate changes. Portions ample, great taste, only 1 entree greater than $20. We had 3 different entrees, all well... More

setting: It is the official restaurant of the Citizen hotel. Very nice airy and spacey setting with large windows. Good atmosphere and bar feel. Food: Very good drink choices and good beer and wines. I had also dinner, I would say not their strength: I had tuna tartare with avocado and chips. Unfortunately the tuna was very fishy ... And... More

I went to Grange for 4 times during the months of January and February of 2015 for business lunches. Prices are on the expensive side as this is a high end restaurant. I tried two soups, Butternut squash soup and Cauliflower soup with truffle. Butternut squash soup is near perfect; rich but only to a right amount. I also did... More

Five of us ate after a conference had ended, and our server was a delight. She was very helpful in guiding menu selections and attentive in checking in on us (as much as her other table assignments allowed). The food was well-prepared. I have eaten here a number of times in the past, and the menu is always an interesting... More

If you want an upscale meal, consider this restaurant. We met there for with a small group for business. It was quiet enough that we could visit easily across the table. The server was knowledgeable about the ever changing menu items. They do emphasize farm to fork with lots of locally sourced foods. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and... More

Since all three in our party ordered the same items, I can only be certain of this: the pork chops are superb, world class, and the celeriac soup was delicious and different. Service was excellent. Our server knew his wine list and was helpful (this with a group in town for a wine event--so a tough audience). My friends and... More

The best soup EVER! The Grange burger was pretty good and the churros were good too! Save money and skip the cheese plate!

Great brunch with friends for our annual Christmas get-together. Food, wine, staff were great. We'll go there again.

I happened upon this restaurant because I was staying at The Citizen Hotel on business. Had dinner there two nights in a row, wow, what a treat! Great happy hour, try the tacos. But the pork chop is absolutely the best ever! Service is exquisite. Also had an unusual beef short rib dish that was both memorable and delicious. Make... More
