Great Breakfast

I had a business breakfast at the Grange which is connected to the Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento. Some of my guests took the healthy route but I didn't---I chose the Eggs Benedict and they were wonderful. The other great think about the Grange is their coffee--it is wonderful.

We've had lunch at the Grange before, but this was our first brunch. I had the house-cured salmon with miner's lettuce and a soft boiled egg. Could not believe how delicate and deliious the meal was. I'm counting calories so i admit that was part of the reason I ordered this, but t ended up being the best brunch item... More

Excellent experience. I had the ham chop which was brined, sliced and served beautifully. The chop was moist, flavorful and hit the spot. My wife had Zabuton which was also delicious. Wines go from inexpensive to expensive. We had a $40 bottle which was perfect for the meal. Great staff, friendly, personable. Tim was great. We will return.

Two friends and I had a wonderful luncheon there at Christmas time. The food was wonderful and the place glorious in Christmas decorations. The server was excellent and didn't hover, but he was near enough when we needed something to come to the table quickly. I also liked the valet parking...parking in that area is hard.

A friend and I went to Grange on a Thursday in January at 6 PM. It was very difficult to find on-street parking, and the staff was discussing giving away our reservation when I arrived at 6:05. If you are concerned about timeliness during an event or the dinner rush, opt to park in a nearby garage to avoid this... More

Just had dinner here 2 nights ago and the food and the service was really good. We ordered on their small plate menu the Ahi Tuna Tartare, the tuna was really fresh and it was served with avocado on top, jalapeno caviar and hand cut chips. Also tried their asparagus salad, which was fresh which came with passmore ranch caviar... More

We have dined here several times, but this was the first time with the new chef. Our dinner was constrained by the need to make a show. So we skipped the small plates, went right to mains. My wife enjoyed her red snapper. She cooks seafood with chorizo on occasion so the preparation was right up her alley. I had... More

The Grange Restaurant offers fine dining in a pleasant atmosphere in downtown Sacramento. The food was darn good and the service was equal of better. My only "concern" was that for $11, the specialty cocktails could have a little more alcohol in them. They probably poured a 1 ounce shot. I'm old enough to remember when drinks could be bought... Recently reviewed in Sacramento Bee, we called for reservations. When we arrived , used "valet parking"(will put on your food bill"). Escorted to our table with no wait. Restaurant was not full. Ample room between tables, high ceilings, comfortable seating.menu printed daily to accommodate changes. Portions ample, great taste, only 1 entree greater than $20. We had 3 different entrees, all well... More

setting: It is the official restaurant of the Citizen hotel. Very nice airy and spacey setting with large windows. Good atmosphere and bar feel. Food: Very good drink choices and good beer and wines. I had also dinner, I would say not their strength: I had tuna tartare with avocado and chips. Unfortunately the tuna was very fishy ... And... More
