Mikuni has some of the freshest fish in Sactown-area sushi restaurants. There are several locations. Each are busy, loud and fun. The rolls are often creative, and there are some traditional rolls as well. The only thing that keeps it from a better rating is the overuse of heavy sauces. And, please, why is everyone, including Mikuni, putting mayonnaise on... More

We went to Mikuni for the past 19 years and still like the place(s). We don't think atmosphere in the restaurant is the greatest but so is the food and fish and that's the number one reason, right? Overall a bit pricey compared to other Sushi places in the area.

I've eaten at the Elk Grove and Rosevilles Mikunis. Enjoyed all my meals! Only my son-in-law makes better sushi!

I'm a bit of a sushi snob, I can admit it. This sushi was not terrible but certainly not great. Priced just okay. Went for an early dinner with my sister who had never tried sushi. She said it was ok too. I'll take her to a favorite of mine in AZ next time, Ah-Hai. The wasabi was not hot... More

Used to be a quality experience with real sushi chefs. Now any guy who can cut fish and "drizzle" mayonnaise based sauce to mask lesser grade fish. It focuses a lot on fried ingredients in its rolls. If you don't like sushi you really will enjoy this "Americanized" version. It's very expensive for the sushi quality. Place is packed with... More

Up until about 4 months ago I had no desire to eat sushi. I had last eaten sushi 15 years before at Mikuni and hated it. Friends invited me and my wife out to dinner one night at Mikuni's. I was excited to give it another shot. I am so glad I gave it because it was fantastic. Me and... More

They are so focused on maximizing the commercial experience. The BBQ tuna is fantastic but that is the only reason I go. The atmosphere is mediocre, the prices are really high and be prepare to be marketed to at every chance
