Great Peruvian dinner

Having spent a bit of time in Peru, where I ate some of the best, freshest food I've ever tasted, so I had high expectations for La Huaca. However, we may just have not ordered the right items. I'd like to go back and try some other items and see if we like it better. We ordered a Causa and... More

After reading other reviews, we were looking forward to our initial visit. We studied the menu in advance after scoring a Groupon coupon for dinner. Only one other table was occupied as we entered. No problem with reservations! The empty tables concerned us. Knowing in advance what we wanted, we promptly ordered entrees, no appetizers. Of course, we confirmed the... More

Went on the recommendation of a friend. The resteraunt was nicely decorated and staff were pleasant. Portions were small but we still couldn't finish them as both the appetizer and main Ceviche meals were to salty. In the end had to to go to another resteraunt as we were still hungry.

Met with 2 friends at La Huaca in Roseville, California. We shared a serving of Trio De Ceviches for an appetizer, which provided the opportunity to try several different types. All were very tasty and the serving size worked well for 4 people. I had Fettuccine a La Crema De Pesto Con Churrasco and my wife had Camaronos Entre Lima... More

Three of us go to lunch several times a month, always looking for interesting food. We were not disappointed with the food, wine or the service. The decor is simple yet striking. For lunch tables were covered with blue linen tablecloths and cloth napkins. Soft Peruvian music played. The menu is large with many mouth-watering Peruvian dishes...seafood, meats, soup, salad,... It may be in a typical suburban shopping center, but once you walk in you’ll appreciate the modernambience of this restaurant and friendly and helpful service staff. Six of us sampled several of the appetizers. “Excellent and so full of flavor!” Dinners included Arroz con Pato (rice infused with cilantro sauce with tender comfit duck, carrots, peas served with Salsa... Wanted to try Peruvian food and this place didn't disappoint us. Lamb is awesomely fall-off the bone, large serving and the staff are wonderful. Definitely worth the hour drive. Can't wait to try other food on the menu.

My wife and I tried La Huaca for our first Peruvian food and were very pleased. It is a small place but tastefully decorated. The restaurant is in a strip mall and does not look like much from the outside. Entering, that all changes. Would not say its elegant but it is nice. The wait staff were very helpful and... More

A beautiful modern space sets the stage for spectacular flavors from this Peruvian kitchen. Great change of pace from the usual food choices, La Huaca offers things you just won't find anywhere else (unless it's another Peruvian restaurant). Everything was tasty and well presented. Especially loved the ceviche options. Staff very friendly to the point of slightly overbearing, but that... More
