A little bit of Miami in Sacramento

I lived in Miami for five years and had a couple Peruvian food places that I frequented. I'm so happy that we now have a great one in Sacramento. I went to La Huaca for the first time and had a great dinner. I had the lamb shank that was so tender that it fell off the bone. It was... read more

My family has visited La Huaca in Roseville, CA about five times. First of all, top notch ethnic dining is not that common in Placer County, CA. Also, consistency of service, quality of food and portions is not a given. La Huaca excels in those categories. Lamb, pork, beef, rice, duck, vegetables...all are prepared in authentic ways that are very... More

I am Peruvian so I'm always looking for a good Peruvian restaurant. We went with another couple to La Huaca and we were very impressed with the food, the service and the decor. Ivan Jauregui, the manager is a gracious host and he made us feel welcome. Chef Gianmarco prepared some delicious dishes for us, everything was cooked to perfection.... More

Having spent a bit of time in Peru, where I ate some of the best, freshest food I've ever tasted, so I had high expectations for La Huaca. However, we may just have not ordered the right items. I'd like to go back and try some other items and see if we like it better. We ordered a Causa and... More

After reading other reviews, we were looking forward to our initial visit. We studied the menu in advance after scoring a Groupon coupon for dinner. Only one other table was occupied as we entered. No problem with reservations! The empty tables concerned us. Knowing in advance what we wanted, we promptly ordered entrees, no appetizers. Of course, we confirmed the... More

Went on the recommendation of a friend. The resteraunt was nicely decorated and staff were pleasant. Portions were small but we still couldn't finish them as both the appetizer and main Ceviche meals were to salty. In the end had to to go to another resteraunt as we were still hungry.

This was our first time at a Peruvian restaurant, what a nice surprise! The restaurant in simply decorated with very nice atmosphere and a friendly staff. The lady explained the dishes to us. We started with a Anticuchos Tres Especies appetizer, very tasty, then we ordered our main dishes of Pachamance Tres Carnes and Aji De Gallina, the sauces were... More

Met with 2 friends at La Huaca in Roseville, California. We shared a serving of Trio De Ceviches for an appetizer, which provided the opportunity to try several different types. All were very tasty and the serving size worked well for 4 people. I had Fettuccine a La Crema De Pesto Con Churrasco and my wife had Camaronos Entre Lima... More

Three of us go to lunch several times a month, always looking for interesting food. We were not disappointed with the food, wine or the service. The decor is simple yet striking. For lunch tables were covered with blue linen tablecloths and cloth napkins. Soft Peruvian music played. The menu is large with many mouth-watering Peruvian dishes...seafood, meats, soup, salad,... It may be in a typical suburban shopping center, but once you walk in you’ll appreciate the modernambience of this restaurant and friendly and helpful service staff. Six of us sampled several of the appetizers. “Excellent and so full of flavor!” Dinners included Arroz con Pato (rice infused with cilantro sauce with tender comfit duck, carrots, peas served with Salsa...
