Small, Unobtrusive, Yet so Very Good Vegetarian and Omnivoire Food

My good friend recommended this small South Asian tucked away in a strip mall in Cotati, CA. Their online menu looked amazing for both the Appetizers, Sizzilings and, most importantly the Curries. OMG, too many choices, so we sampled several, and added Naan (and they have six varieties, all freshly... read more

Meenakshi runs a heavenly haven of serenity in a little corner of a small strip mall. She is delightful, welcoming and an incredibly talented natural chef, teaching all her staff to cook 'her way'. We were thrilled with our choices, the crisp and fragrant poppadums with home made raita and fabulously sweet mango chutney were great. Following that we shared... More

I am here in Rohnert Park for business and was just looking for some decent food. Instead, at Shangri-La I found fabulous food. I ordered the palak paneer with chicken and butter naan. When asked (I appreciated this) I ordered mild spice but would be adventurous next time and try medium. Service was friendly and fast and the glass of... More

We had several dishes and they were all perfectly prepared. We had the Chili Chicken and it was very good, the garlic naan was also good. Palak Paneer was also very good. The waitress was very nice and helpful with how spicy to get our dishes. Definitely would recommend it and we will definitely return.

This restaurant has the best poultry, fish and lab with good selections of vegan and vegetarian dishes. I had Lamd Spinach Curry which I loved and my wife had the Pumpkin Curry which she said was fantastic. We enjoyed our dinner with a glass of California Merlot which was perfect since this restaurant sits in the heart of Sonoma County... More

I had the salmon curry and it could not have been better! Moist tender salmon simmered in a complex and robust curry sauce. Everything was so well balanced. I ordered mine "medium" spice but could have gone even hotter (for me). The favors were full and the dish was fantastic served with a side of cooked organic kale.

This place is truly a hidden gem in Sonoma County. The food is always flavorsome and delicious. When I get my bill, I feel like I am stealing something because the price is great. It always smells like the inside of a yum cloud. No one eats here just once. Sometimes the service can be a bit relaxed and I... More

The Fam and I happened to be all together for my sisters graduation from SSU and this was the place she chose for her grad dinner. The restaurant is great and offers patio dining. The food was well prepared and fresh. I had the lamb and it was excellent. We all enjoyed our dinner and had great friendly service to... More

I have been going to Shangrila since it opened back in the early 2000's. It's just as good, if not better, than when it first opened. The owner and staff are extremely warm and friendly, but the excellent food is what you'll go back for, time and time again. I haven't had one thing on the menu I haven't loved!... More
