Best Mexican Food.

I'm a very good judge of Mexican food because I AM a great Mexican cook! So when I don't feel like cooking I go to Zacatecas. The next best thing to my food. I go there at least once a week.

We have been going to this family owned restaurant for 40 years. The recipes have been handed down through the generations and the quality of the food is superb. Without a doubt, this is the best old style Mexican food in Riverside.

TV's aren't blaring and people aren’t screaming and the drinks, well I don’t know. You go to Zacatecas for the delicious, authentic handmade tortillas and Mexican treats. You can skip the rice but who really cares about rice. The menudo is what Menudo is supposed to taste like. Forget that you’re in one of the poorer neighborhoods of Riverside and... More

Anyone that says this is average or below food is Cacarazy! If you can't handle a little real neighborhood mexican or latin culture atmosphere go to Bakers or Del Taco. What if you were to go where Rick Bayless finds some great dining in the some poor neighborhoods! Of course Zac's is not the Riviera. Okay,I am a big fan... More

Visited for a late Saturday night take-out. The service was outstanding. The food was not fancy but extremely tasty and very good. Local gem and wish their was one closer to home.

I've been going here for over 25 years. I was born and raised in Riverside and their food has always been delicious and not pricey. Even after the original owners passed away and their children took over, the food and service has been consistently good! Definitely go!

First impression: Entering from the rear - (parking is in the rear) the first thing you pass is the restrooms - and we both noticed a heavy cleaner/disinfectant smell, that was evident all the way toward the front - and we sat way toward the front. We'd seen their website, and watched the local "Inland Empire" critic Allan Borgen in... More

In addition to their excellent authentic Mexican food, the second generation of Medina's (as did their mother and father) employ family who in turn treat their customers like family. Their great service and warm conversation makes you feel like a guest in their home. There is a huge contingent of regular cutomers who travel near and far to eat here... More

Family run small restaurant. Very good Mexican food prepared by the owners. Cheerful and friendly. Inexpensive place to join a friend for lunch. Not fancy. An historical landmark.
