Good place for lunch

I thought the food was very good. I had the bison burger and my wife had the chicken sandwich. The burger was cooked on the rare side and the taste was very good. Bison meat is very lean, but flavorable. The atmosphere is a old fashion bar with restaurant tables in back area. Not very fancy... read more

This is a great place to have lunch on Fridays for $4.95. They have a different special every Friday. The choice of 2 items and substantial portions. Dinners are great and have a wide range of choices moderately price. They owner was a hunter and Big game are everywhere displayed. Just to let you know.

My husband and I can't wait for Fridays, because we really enjoy the "Friday Specials" at Foster's Bighorn. You just can't beat the price of $4.95, and the food is sooo good. You can tell it's made fresh. The waitress' are always pleasant and helpful.

This one of a kind place in Rio Vista is a must see. I tried the lunch special which was Cuban Sandwich. They used bacon instead of ham. It was delicious. My friend had the French Dip, it was tender and very good. Ample quantity, we took half home.

Foster's is like stepping back in time. Hunting has certainly changed over the years. Haven't seen elephant and giraffe mounts anywhere else. And so many big cats, rhinos, moose, elk and every other animal you can think of and many you'd never thought of. When we were there a few years ago my wife climbed up on the bar and... More

A friend told us about this place today, so we checked it out. It looks like it's one of those small storefront bars, but inside it's a restaurant, too. Food was good and moderately priced. The real attraction is the crazy amount of Hunting trophies there. I am not into them per se, but you've got to see this place... More

The Buffalo Burger is good but there is years of dust on the stuffed animals every where which is really gross, they need to clean the dust. John Taffer needs there help cause it's just a matter of time until someone gets sick from the old dust blowing on your food and you. ICK !!!

This place is the best and most comprehensive private collection of animal trophies I know of. I believe the tusks are the largest privately held and the giraffe is the only privately held in North America. There are even pictures of people like Hemingway and Teddy Roosevelt on the walls. As for food, it was always a bit pricey but... More

Did not eat here, only had a beer. But, the place is worth a visit just to see the walls covered with rare and some extinct special of animals shot and mounted by a previous owner in the 50's & 60's when many of these creatures stilled roamed the earth. We are talking elephants, Rhino, Giraffe, etc. Unbelievable!

Walking into the bar is like walking back in time with all the animal heads on the wall. But, as long as it doesn't bother you it can be charming. The lunch was nice bar food. The sandwiches were good but I would not have the Thai salad again since it tasted and looked like the dressing came out of... More
