My wife and I "pop in" to Fosters Bighorn Bar on a recommendation from a local from Locke; we were just passing through on the way home from Lake Tahoe. Very surprised to see all the "heads on the walls" in all the different rooms...... do not miss the back room, but say hello to he elephant on the way... More

The most striking aspect of Foster's are the animal heads on the walls. Truly unique. Elephant and giraffe along with hundreds of others. Food is ordinary. Pass Foster's up for something better in Rio Vista

Every horned animal in the world (I think) has it's head on the wall. The bar is a must stop if driving through the delta. The food is ok and the service at the bar is friendly but slow. If you hate taxidermy don't stop. If you are hunting for unique watering holes for a quick stop, this must make... More

A super unique experience. I grew up in and around this place so I had to move away and come back to appreciate the uniqueness of Fosters. My favorite plate to eat is the Calamari, I will say this dish is the best I have ever eaten anywhere and I have traveled and eaten all over the world. Fantastic.

On your next trip to Rio Vista stopping in at Foster's Bighorn is a must. I'm a resident of Rio Vista and have eaten here several times. The food is always good. ( I had a full rack of pork ribs.)This time I found the service particularly good. People come from all over to see the taxidermy of the numerous... More

No matter where you live on the West coast, take the thirty minute drive on HWY 12 between Lodi and Fairfiled to Rio Vista and Foster's Big Horn. The experience will be well worth your time and the collection of taxidermy is one of the world's best. Places like this are disappearing as corporate food and beverage conglomerates predominate and... More

go to Foster's. Sandwiches are great, a full meal. Service was efficient and friendly. Haven't been there for dinner yet. Would we go again? Answer, YES. We enjoyed taking friends/family there.

Close your eyes when in this restaurants if you have seen and love animals in the wild. It made me feel sad seeing a big elephant head on the wall after being in Africa. But, I can't comment much on that if I eat meat! Food was average at a big price for what you got. Nothing vegan on the... More

This restaurant was recommended, so we stopped for lunch while in the area. Big and small game mounted on the walls -- that was a surprise! There are over 100 black and white safari and hunting photos on the walls, all very interesting to look at and read about. Lunch was good-I had the southwest chicken sandwich and salad, my... More
