We have lived in this area for 45 years, and this is, by far, the best Italian restaurant we have ever eaten at. Everything is made fresh by Mario and his wife, and their pizza is excellent. We always take our guests there at least once each visit. They only serve dinner and they have a very good wine list.

Sometimes a long journey can be broken by a great surprise, such as an authentic Italian dinner on the long road from San Francisco to Eureka. Mario's Ristorante Italiano sits back on a frontage road about 8 miles north of Ukiah in Mendocino County, and you might drive right by without ever seeing it. But look for it, because this... More

We dine at Mario's several times per month. We happen to love the old style building, gives it an old-world charm. And the food...it is ALWAYS excellent.

Stopped at this place driving down Hwy 101. Not many sit down eating options so I made the (bad) decision to stop here. Place does not take credit cards- cash only. It looks like a double wide trailer in the middle of no where. The walls are covered with posters and Hollywood style memorabilia and you have the usual Italian... More

This restaurant is a large modified cottage. It has an eclectic, unusual decor, very cosy and romantic. It has old movie posters throughout which is a bit unusual for an Italian restaurant. The food is good. I have had the veal piccata twice now. Yum!

I've lived in the area for years but never visited this restaurant, so when my friend invited me to his birthday dinner there, I was excited to try it. I've always heard how great the food is. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. I ordered the cheese ravioli in meat sauce. Either the sauce was watery or they didn't drain... More

Don't be fooled by the decor or the photos of Italian movie stars and singers who never ate at Mario's. Mom 'n Pop are in the kitchen making a red sauce as good as any I ever tasted. Nothing fancy here but very good food like home made ravioli and sausage. Reasonably-priced wine list. Friendly service. I could tell it... More

Disclaimer: I have not eaten here in over 10 years and I once worked as a waitress at Mario's about 15 years ago. This is the type of dining experience that you never forget. The minute you walk in the door the aroma starts you salivating and the atmosphere takes you to another time and place. Italian and Italian/American music... More

We live in the Bay Area & wanted to hit the Indian Casinos off Route 101 north of Santa Rosa for the Memorial Day weekend & then head up to Avenue of The Giants(Redwoods) & then over to Fort Bragg & down coastal Route 1by Mendocino & then back to Marin County. I tell you this because if anyone desires... More
