Glad we found this

5/15/15 The tortellini carbonara and the risotto special with shrimp and salmon was really good. Nice portions and decent pricing. Service was excellent. Skip on the calamari fritti (tasted like the frozen kind and they should know better). One of these days I'll get over the $8 sticker shock of a... read more

I have been coming to this place for a couple years and always have an excellent meal here. The papardelle con cinghiale is a particular favorite as an entree, but I have had an excellent risotto and osso buco as well. I don't think there is any bad choice on the menu. The complimentary bread served at the beginning of... More

We wound up at Vino Santo Bistro because our favorite Italian spot is closed on Sundays. Vino Santo Bistro delivers average quality food with sloppy, unprofessional service. The overall experience was meh. Take the wine for example. The menu said 2012 Ridge Three Valley. That was a very good year and fairly priced at $13. What arrived was a small... More

This place has been around for a decade and the chef is knowledgeable and the waitstaff nice, but this is not, I repeat, not an Italian restaurant and has never been and will never be. Look, you can make Italian food, I can make Italian, but it takes a real sense of what makes great Italian fare to qualify, in... More

Overall our experience here was great. It was a Thur. Evening and they were understaffed, we ended up being served by the front of house manager - and owners son. Starter salad was small but the Caesar dressing (their own) was great. We both loved our pasta selections. Totally glad we skipped the line next door to eat here. We'll... More

They staff here is very nice and the food was to die for. My wife said when she says she wants spaghetti she says this is where she wants to go. No more home cooking spaghetti.

I was visiting my older brother in CA and he took me to his favorite little Italian restaurant. This is a small, delightful little restaurant in downtown Redwood City. The wait staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The warm, fresh bread was delicious. The "dipping" oil was actually quite thick with spices so you had to be careful... More

We were at this restaurant for my nephew's birthday and there is good news and bad news. The good news is that the food is hearty Italian of the kind you would expect in a small neighborhood bistro. The bad news is that it is not a place to go with more than 4 people. It took the staff a... More
