I've lived and dined in the Peninsula my whole life (which is a long time) and am not sure how long this place has been here, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that such a place existed in our own backyard. We went for dinner with our kids on a Friday evening a couple of weeks ago and loved it.... More

Pretty good hard to find German restaurant. Nice beer selection. Service was awful - we were sitting outside and asked what beers there were and he told us to go look inside. I go back from time to time but nothing regularly.

This is a German restaurant and beer hall. The beers are numerous and great and the food is 100% German goodness: sausages, schnitzel, pretzels, kraut, and, well, you get the picture. Since this is my cultural heritage, I thought the food and beer were great. Folks who do not share my genes might disagree. Anyway, this place is 100% open... More

Been coming here for 3 years when it was small. Now that they expanded indoors and out it's like a frat house on Friday & Saturday nights. If you want to enjoy your beer and food when it's peaceful go at noon time. They still have the best german beer on tap any where in Redwood City.

Tucked behind a German gift shop is this spectacular gem of a real German beer hall. It's crowded, it's noisy, the people and staff are super friendly, the menu small, simple and to the German point. Many great German beers.

Ok, sausage and beer, Is there anything more I need to say? This is a great place to hang out and enjoy the array of beers on tap. They provide samples which is awesome. Try a few and select your favorite. The food is very good. After you finish go to the store that is connected to the restaurant (or... More

I have lived in Redwood City for my entire life and I have always passed by this store located in the downtown area. Apparently 5 or 6 years ago, the back part of the store was converted in a restaurant that serves German food. The food here is great, with generous portions. The menu offers a variety of German cuisine... More

I have come here a number of times with friends and it never disappoints. Kitchen closes a little on the early side but the brats and jumbo pretzels are always good, and the liter beers are hard to beat. Takes me back to Germany every time.

WOW! After living in Germany for almost 11 years, I didn't think I'd find a place in the USA that actually smelled and tasted like Germany. This is the place. Imported German bier, food, snacks and a Gasthaus atmosphere (including the wooden bench style tables). The food actually tastes authentic, and the bier....mmmmm. If you can find the place, definitely... More

A hidden German beer garden in downtown redwood city? Yes! Tucked away in the back of a little European food store is a good sized beer garden. Fantastic beer choices, 1 liter draft beers, and fantastic food. You must try this place.
