Railroad Bistro Café boasts well-prepared, seasonal ingredients served by a cheerful and capable staff...

I agree with the others--great place for a pre-farmer's market breakfast! The sandwiches and salads are wonderful--ripe delicious tomatoes, good quality breads and sandwich rolls and the fries have a good crisp to them. We also get take-out here, which is handled efficiently. My only criticism is... read more

The way it works here you line up and order from a counter and then someone delivers the meal to you. The food is generally okay and pleasant but nothing special. Sometimes they get it wrong, like a poached egg is more like a hardboiled egg, if you bring it to ther attention they make the change. The potatoes they... More

The sandwiches and salads are wonderful--ripe delicious tomatoes, good quality breads and sandwich rolls and the fries have a good crisp to them. We also get take-out here, which is handled efficiently. My only criticism is that the "cheesy bread"seems a misnomer. I expected gooey, melted cheese and instead... More

While awaiting work on our car one morning, we walked the area looking for a place to have breakfast. Came to Sequoia Center in Redwood City, and Franklin Street Café, in that Center. The rather traditional bacon, eggs, pan-fried potatoes, English muffin and coffee were quite nice, except for the potatoes, which were greasy. The place is pleasant, quiet and... More

While visiting Redwood City, I stumbled across this cafe since I was staying at a hotel across the street. I love their breakfast!

I've been dining here several times a month for the past 8 years. It's one of the best places in Redwood City, great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is always good and the staff friendly and efficient. The daily specials are always worth a look and the cappuccinos are better and less expensive than the nearby Starbucks. Perfect... More

My husband goes fairly frequently and loves it. I went a couple of months ago. It is a cafe-looking restaurant. Sit-down meals, nice atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. It overlooks the Amtrack (you are at the Sequoia Station in Redwood City), but if that doesn't bother you - it's fine with me. Lots of people watching. But getting to the... More

If you are in a hurry, skip the fast food and try the Franklin Street Cafe! Located in the Sequoia Station Shopping Center, near the train station. Serves breakfast and lunch. All fresh ingredients, made to order. Eat in the cafe, on their patio or take-out!

The restaurant doesn't have much character on the outside, so I thought the food would be bland and uninspired. However, it's actually one of the better lunch spots in downtown RWC and completely unassuming. A lot of people like to loiter in this area though and the train is very noisy as it passes (the restaurant is right next to... More
