Good that could be great!

The place has a lot of potential to be a got to place day in and day out. The food is really good and the drinks are very nice. The staff can be a bit of an issue if they are really busy. I've been there a few times now, and usually can be ignored for awhile each time.

They really stick their necks out to deliver unique drinks and dishes. The scotish eggs are always popular, but most things on the menu are constantly changing and usually very good. They will make a drink to suit your mood no matter what it is, and they will frequently go back to the kitchen to get fresh ingrediednts to make... More

Was meeting someone here for the first time, so we sat at the bar. We weren't acknowledged or asked if we wanted anything for a good 10-15 minutes, even though the place wasn't very busy. Finally got their attention by talking about how thirsty we were and how nice it would be to get anything to drink, even water. That... More

We stopped by for drinks before dinner and had a great experience. The Earl Grey Marteani was unique and tasted like an earl grey latte. The New Fashion was also delicious. Others in our group ordered off the whiskey menu and enjoyed their selection. Nice atmosphere.

Since it opened Martins West has had excellent food! Chef Michael and his crew do not let grass grow on the menus! If you go and they have the short ribs and you eat meat, order this. They sous vide them so they are rare- MR cooked inside and seared to almost painful deliciousness. Why painful? Because it is soooo... More

Monthly lunch outing with a friend, we ventured to this Scottish themed pub (more emphasis on restaurant than bar). What a lucky find! The service was prompt and helpful, patiently answering any questions we had about food prep or choice. The Ploughman was, by far, one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. 3 nicely blended cheeses on... More

We joined our son who is a local resident for this experience so he helped us navigate the diverse and very well concocted dishes and cocktail delights. I had the pork fat back dinner and we shared several of the special cocktails like the featured Scalawag...TASTY. Give it a try....lots of room to find and try different food with fresh... More

If you love hamburgers, this is the best grass fed beef hamburger, with its glazed onion and bacon topping. It was the most delicious hamburger I have ever had. Every bite was flavorful. Adding the sliced pickle to the hamburger did not take away the flavor. It totally enhanced it. For dessert, I had the butterscotch, caramel de creme. Like... More

This bar is terrific old-time stuff: kids in booster seats (at 5 pm anyway), old ladies, work colleagues, hipsters, good-looking 30-somethings, and lots of interesting cocktails, beers on tap, wines by the glass, and helpful waiters. The diversity is compelling The food is on-again off-again: one night I sent back my dinner 2 times, another lunch (mainly the pates--which are... More

I've eaten at Martin's for a couple lunches in the past, and was expecting an expensive lunch, but at least one that would be tasty and satisfying. Today's lunch special was roast duck breast, $17. I asked the server how the dish was prepared and was told that the duck breast was sliced and plated with the accompaniments. I wasn't... More
