Great fresh seafood

Stopped in while on vacation at recommendation if a friend. Had grilled salmon, hush puppies and a local brew. All were outstanding. The place also is a fish market which might account :) for the adjacent "mess hall" fishy smell (almost too strong hence the 4 stars...) but overall great food (note... read more

This is an excellent little restaurant. The decor and seating is basic and it is a fish market as well as ordering almost any type of fish that you then find a table to enjoy. The fish was fresh and excellent and I will be back.

Choose your crabs or lobsters from the live tanks and have them steamed while you wait. Fish and other seafood also cooked to order as well as a good lobster bisque and a wide range of sauces. Dine in option available and wine and beer on offer but we preferred take out back to the hotel room balcony and our... More

very good affordable seafood. We ate there for dinner on a Thursday night. The lobster rolls and the shrimp tacos were both very tasty.

be warned this is not for everybody. - do you like seafood ? - do you like lots of choice ? - are you after well cooked food ? This is for you. The fish choices are immense, they are well cooked. Yes you get a number and called back for your food, yes it's plastic knives & forks. But... More

Everything is good here. It's a casual place with picnic tables and fresh sea food. They have a variety of wine by the glass or bottle. And best of all, they crack and clean your steamed crab. Worth every penny!!!

I have been eating at Captain Kidd sense the 1960's and it hasn't changed much. Fresh seafood is the what one comes here for. Located in the king harbor of Redondo Beach they have access to local commercial fresh catches. I have actually seen some of the whole iced fish still moving. I always choose a fresh fillet from the... More

It's a hybrid fish market and restaurant. The fish is always excellent, if a tad pricey. I suppose that comes from being on the fringes of a tourist trap in RB. The swordfish - when they have it, and this can be a problem for crab also - is always excellent, and they'll grill it right, but make sure to... More

Just a short walk from the Redondo Beach Pier, or park at the other end and you don't have to walk. It's a fish shop and/or restaurant. If you wish, you pick out your fish and they cook it for you. I also buy fish/shrimp there and take it home as it's fresh. It's not a fancy place but it's... More

We've been here many times and it never fails to deliver. Glenn at the fish counter knows what the best, freshest fish is and you can pick your piece and any size you want. Last night Glenn recommended the the most delicate tasting halibut. Then they prepare it for you ust how you like it. I like mine pan fried... More
