Went mid-week and buffet wasn't exciting. Omelettes were good but for two we spent near $50 but it didn't feel like a high end breakfast. I would have rather gone to Cheesecake Factory for Brunch or Lunch.

More of a 3.5. The food was good the service was slow. Dessert was nice. Wine list was so so. Has a great view. The fish and chips weren't to bad at all.

For New Years Baleen has a fixed menu dinner where the wines are paired for each course. The meal is expensive, but it's New Years. For two years running we celebrated there with 10 other friends. The main courses and wine were good, but I was only lukewarm on the experience for several reasons. The service was slow, such that... More

Have enjoyed the fresh seafood here for years. You can choose from a large variety of fish and lobster and have it prepared to order. Sit out on the patio and watch the sailboats. The prices have gone up, but I think it's worth it. Still has the feeling that it's been there forever. Worth a try.

The lemon mascarpone pancakes are the best I have ever had. It's a bit pricey but for the location and service, it's worth it.

Nice selection of passed appetizers before dinner. Choice of 4 entrees plus soup or salad and dessert mad it more restaurant like than a banquet type meal. Clam chowder soup, salmon, and lemon meringue tart all very tasty with ample portions. Private room has great view (although it was dark), and the staff was friendly and helpful.

My wife and I arrived at the Portofino hotel, and decided to walk across the street to the Baleen Restaurant. The restaurant's location is fabulous, with A goegeous view of the Redondo Beach Marina, packed with beautiful yachts and wheeling gulls. We showed up a few minutes before the 6 PM start of dinner service, so decided to eat in... More

First I want to say I am not the kind of reviewer that rips into places. If you look at my reviews most of them are pretty high. I was part of a large (14) group on Saturday night. I'll start at the beginning. I pulled my car up to where it said, "stop here. Valet Parking." We got out... More
