They could feed a bear with the portions they serve! It's always a great value, but the food really tastes good too. It tastes like homemade not frozen, franchise food. It's always crowded but they seat you right away and service is fast.

I have generally had a good experience in this restaurant at several different locations, so we decided to listen to our stomachs growl another 100 miles at stop in Redding. BBDs are a great alternative to fast food or casinos and this one was no exception. Quick but professional service along with generous portions of the type of food your... More

If you've been to a Black Bear before you know what to expect; oldies music playing, reasonable prices and huge portions. I had the meat loaf and barely finished it. Everything was good as usual. If you're hungry, this is always a good option.

The omelet was cold and the cheese was not melted. The staff was friendly and we were seated right away on a Sunday morning. Seemed pricy for breakfast.

Asked for a bowl of soup and i got a nasty canned chicken noddle one (the chicken pieces were slimy), they shouldn't advertise homemade food when the only thing they do is open a can and give it to you.

Corned Beef Hash lovers paradise. I have had few bad experiences with CBH. I mean how can you mess up a recipe made of meat and minced potatoes? How can you make it better? I don't really know! But they do. The helping is large, the price is very good and with an English muffin it is a very satisfying... More

It's a good family restaurant, decent food. Not healthy in the least, not very original. I don't recommend the salads or the roast. Breakfast is their best menu.

Pretty good food, fast service, good value, just what you might expect for a chain restaurant. Good average food!! We saw Black Bear Diners all over California so we thought we should stop in and see what it was like. Our server was a little too cheerful and upbeat for the first thing in the morning. The décor was fun.... More

They don't have Black Bears in my part of the state (Orange County) so I always make it a point to stop when in No. Calif. Another great experience. Lots of food for the price, service is excellent, and they always act as if they are really glad to see you. Make this a must stop when in Redding.

Food is good and tasty, and it is served in a short time. Prepared attractive. Always lots of people in this place until it closes. Prices are reasonable
