A very pleasant surprise

We stumbled on this place after our prior choice had already closed on a Sunday evening. It is part of a Best Western Hotel. Nice ambience and vibes. We never have observed that Redding has a lot of good places to eat. This is one. We were there for a post Christmas dinner with family. A rather... read more

We stayed the the Best Western Pluss Hilltop Inn which included a full breakfast. We had dinner the same night we checked in and the food was delicious! I had the cod fish taco's that were a special that night (always on the menu offered at a lower price that night) I can't remember what my husband had, I remember... More

We had reservations so the restaurant knew our group of 8 adults were coming. It took some time after we were seated to get our menus after being seated, even longer for someone to take our orders. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food. No one came to check on us. After over an hour I hunted up... More

Overpriced bad food and service that is very slow and rude, nothing on their menu is worth eating except for the appetizer tacos which are still overpriced unless eaten during happy hour, Will not split checks for large groups which is very inconvenient and hard to deal with

I ordered take out as I had a dog with me. Ordered a $15 Oriental Salad with veggies & grilled chicken. MacDonalds does it better... My salad was missing the chicken, and only had carrot strips and red bell pepper. Bottled Asian dressing-ugh!

Just returned home from Redding and ate at this restaurant after a ten hour drive from Palm Desert and was looking forward to an excellent meal, but again was surprised at the lack of flavour in their bacon and cheese burger considering all of the ingredients used. The burger was cooked perfectly, but the meat was quite dry for a medium-well done... We always love the great service at the bar and wonderful servers and food. The artichokes are amazing, they are cooked in the pizza oven.

We had two incredibly pleasant experiences at C. R. Gibbs. Not being from the area we had no idea this restaurant attached to the BW would be so great. Our bartender, Jeff, was a great guy and made the experience even better. Offered tastings and recommendations and was just all around a good energy person to be around. We had... More

C.R. Gibbs Alehouse and Restaurant is co-located with the Best Western Plus Hilltop Inn. When my wife and I registered for our lodging, we were given the option of paying $10 more for a $20 voucher good at the bar or restaurant. We decided to check out Happy Hour (every day 4 to 6 pm). Numerous other people also were... More
