The view here is amazing and the food is an interesting twist on "casual". I enjoyed my lobster tacos, the guacamole and the shrimp appetizer. The drinks are very delicious. Is a good place for a casual feeling meal. This is not a place where you would dress up but they have interesting things on the menu. Wait staff is... More

Food was so so and service was just 'ok'. They charged us $120 for two appetizers and a burger. The whole place (hotel, restaurants, spa) are OVERRATED.

My husband and I dine here several times a year not really for the food or the service but the view. We live on the a few miles down the peninsula and love the different ocean views, especially during whale season. A little music, wine and the view. Perfect date night.

Great for family with children. Food from hamburgers to seafood & steaks. Shrimp cocktail was as good as the best in Las Vegas. Our server was very friendly and was good in her selections.

Well I called no reservations.... Concierge called no reservations.... Met Greg in the lobby asked where to eat and he got us a table. THANK YOU Greg. We LOVED the meal and Brandon was a terrific server. The swordfish was fantastic, the chocolate Carmel sea salt dessert was heavenly 😇😇😇. The view is beautiful. Nothing negative about this visit. Nelson's is a nice restaurant with an outstanding view of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island! It is located at Terranea Resort on the former site of Marineland. The restaurant's name comes from the main character in the TV series, Sea Hunt, with Lloyd Bridges starring as Mike Nelson. Many of the water scenes were filmed just below the cliffs... More

We have visited this restaurant previously, and always found it to be busy, often with a queue. However, its location on a cliff top, overlooking the ocean and across to Catalina island is romantic and captivating, particularly so at sunset. The food is nothing outstanding. It is good but overpriced for what you get. We had the fish and chips... More

The view from the restaurant is amazing, and great for an early dinner to watch the sunset. However the service was very average, waiting over half an hour for a round of drinks only to find out the didn't have to ingredients to make the drinks that had been ordered then had cheese sauce spilled all over us by staff... The view and the resort are truly amazing! I have to say that the food was only mediocre and way overpriced. Drinks were better than the food.
