Unpretentious Find

Nice venue with pleasant surroundings, most tables situated to ensure ability to converse should you so choose. The menu is well-chosen and will appeal to virtually everyone. Not flashy but the type of restaurant you will undoubtedly wish to return to.

Shame on The Moon has long been a place where we and other locals enjoy quite casual dining. The lovely ambiance has not changed but last nights meals of clam pasta and ravioli were very bland and the salads ingredients were also bland and unimaginative. Mario's is better on both counts. Sadly, this will no longer be on our list... More

I've been frequenting this restaurant for years. It's still as good as ever. The menu is extensive with many options. Service is consistently excellent. I love the duck, filet and the rack of lamb. They make a great martini as well.

We had terrible service at another restaurant so we call Ginger and she told us to come right on over. Dinner was nice. I always forget to tell them not DROWN the fish in sauce. They pour sauce over everything. If you can remember to tell them not to do that, then this place is always a great choice. Dining... More

The first thing that hits you about this restaurant are the number of regulars who eat there. The second thing is the friendliness of the entire staff from the time you first enter and are greeted, to the bartender, to the wait staff. This is a restaurant that serves food the old fashioned way. Above average portions served with great... More

We dine here often and love Johnny the bartender with his great presence as well as Ginger the hostess with the ... well you get my drift. Specials nightly, fantastic wait staff and 'liver and onions (if you so desire like me) is their house specialty.

I hadn't been here for some time....menu has not changed, at all...which may be OK for some, but I prefer today's more creative chefs, who introduce new, and adventuresome items to a menu. OK salad to start dinner, then I ordered the "Special" of the night....grilled sea bass, in some sort of "light" tomato sauce. I always ask if fish... More

We love Shame on the Moon and have been dining there for about 15 years. Now that we live in the Desert we can visit more frequently. A great restaurant for an elegant dining experience and most enjoyable food reasonably priced.

I have lived in Rancho for 15 years and gone repeatedly to SOTM. It's been great always. Once in a while they are so popular and busy it's a little difficult to get a reservation time I'd like, but that's a separate issue, and my fault for not calling earlier. Believe me you will never be disappointed in going and... More

What can I say? We traveled from Colorado just for the calf's liver. It has been consistently the best we've eaten. We have been to Shame on the Moon many times over the years and have never been disappointed by the food or service. The atmosphere is fantastic, service impeccable and the food the BEST.
