Absolutely exquisite - will go back every time I'm in town.

A mix of old New York, 1970s Midcentury desert and wonderfulness! Ginger (hostess) was personable, genuine and Marty (server) was exceptional. He sensed what we needed and when. The food? Veal pork roast was to die for; my husband had the lamb (also out of this world), martinis were perfectly... read more

After 20 years in the Desert we finally went to Shame on the Moon. Three of us for dinner, we got reservations. No waiting. Food was very good. Liver was excellent as was the Soup (both kinds). Service was great. How refreshing that NO one had a CELL PHONE. You were asked on the menu to turn them off or... More

It was clearly mixed, as the veal meatloaf and veal short rib were excellent but two people said the lamb chops were the worst they ever had as they were over cooked and fatty. On top of that they... Food is prepared well and served nicely. The waiters do try to accommodate personal desires. The bar is top notch! This is a very busy restaurant and one should make reservations.

Usually when in the area my wife and I try to have dinner at Shame on the Moon. While the decor is old fashioned the food is always good and the service impeccable. So was our experience again last Saturday night. We had reservations in the Garden room and were immediately seated. Our server was very attentive. With the main... More

Beautifully prepared and presented meal served by attentive but not intrusive waiter allowed for an enjoyable dining experience for our party of 4. Many good seafood options; my chicken with mushroom in a balsamic sauce was delicious - the side vegetables were creative; large dessert portions (chocolate mousse cake and peanut butter pie were both devoured) and good wine selection.... Although this happened awhile ago, I have always wanted to tell people about it and now I can with TripAdvisor. This restaurant had a two week waiting list. We happened to get "lucky" and were able to fill a cancellation. I ordered Tilapia... a type of fish. The waiter was snooty and rude. My meal came and I took a... More

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever dined at. The service is excellent. The food is extraordinary. I had the meat loaf and it is the best meat loaf I have ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Rancho Mirage area.
