Very nice surprise - atmosphere a bit average, but food is 5 star

On a recent business trip, I had the urge to eat at a place with a salad bar. Based on a Google search I ran acoss the Cask ' Cleaver but I wasn't sure what to expect. The reviews were good but I was a bit skeptical. I decided to try it. I drove about 15 minutes out of my... read more

A group of us from the office came here for lunch. I was the only one who had been to the Cask before. Everyone was very impressed. The salad bar was great. I had the steak sandwich, topped with bleu cheese and mushrooms. I was very pleased with it. For something unusual, try the tempura avocado. It sounds strange, but... More

We visited to enjoy the birthday of a friend. The 3 of us all ordered a steak and salad bar. Of course, we all loaded up with the salad bar first. The items in this salad bar are extremely varied, and are always ice cold! There is someone tending to the salad bar a lot to ensure it is well... More

This was THE class steakhouse when I was growing up here in SoCal (30 years ago). Now, just visiting, I just had to go back. Wow, it has not changed...at all. So, if you're looking for a current steakhouse (like Flemmings, ect.) you may be disappointed. I sure wasn't! They still offer an amazing very fresh salad bar, great cheese... More

We love this place. Hello it is a STEAK PLACE with a Great Salmon but still if you are ordering, have some scense that this is open fired grilled meat and order something that will be great cooked that way and you will love it too. We love the Grilled Salmon and the baseball cut sirloin, Mesquite Peper Steak medium... More

When you walk thru the entrance, of this Incredible Historic landmark, You will be amazed. It takes you back in time. The service is fabulous & the food is just as fabulous. I recommend the wonderful All-You-Can-Eat Salad Bar. If you love fish, the Cajun or Blackened Salmon is mouth watering delish. I usually order, Cajon Salmon on the side... More

Nice service, great salad bar, good steaks. Excellent wine list, including some local choices. I'm glad they left the décor alone at this location. It's still old and quaint, unlike the botched remodel of the Riverside location. Don't come here expecting "trendy." It's closer to Pinnacle Peak than Morton's, for sure.

OK, so we were a little nervous when we drove up. The non descript brown building with no visible front entrance made us question our choice, But, as we sat there for a moment, the parking lot started to fill with seniors and families. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We both chose Prime Rib. It... More

This is a no-frills restaurant that serves up beer and meat in a very rustic (run-down?) setting. I had the shrimp cocktail which was just average at best. The shrimp tasted bland. For my entree I ordered the top sirloin medium rare and it arrived as is. Not too bad but certainly no where near the best steak that I... More

Celebrated my birthday with my friends. I like this place because I think the food is good and it is especially nice for a luncheon as it is not too noisy. We stayed long after we ate and just talked and they were so nice refilling our water and coffee and didn't ask us to leave. I just had the... More
