Went for dim sum to celebrate my daughter's b-day with 12 relatives. This is a sister restaurant of Emerald Seafood near Convoy St. The taste is a bit bland. Typical unfriendly Asian service (don't blame the cart service folks b/c I wouldn't be smiley pushing thoses carts around all day.) A tag... read more

I read the reviews on trip advisor and this restaurant was ranked as one of the 'best'? in RB?? I thought all of the dishes we had tasted the same, just different names. The appetizers (lettuce wraps) were the best. Service was lacking and I thought we were addressed 'after' other parties were seated. The hot sauce was good. they... More

Dim Sum with cart service. people seem to prefer the experience as more authentic. The scallop dumpling are just a touch under flavored but the wrappers are a great consistency. Likewise for those on Cilantro Shrimp dumplings, which really fresh and bright. Each was served in orders of three. The Shu Mai were stand outs, for thin wrapper their texture... More

Was visiting San Diego and was meeting some friends for lunch. This was recommended by our friend since it was near the hotel where we were staying. Dimsum was typical. Did not find any that was extra ordinary with the food. They had the usual dishes you would find in any chinese restaurant offering dimsum.

I've had a decent amount of dim sum in San Diego and Pearl is one of the best. The staple dim sum dishes like shrimp or pork dumplings, BBQ pork buns and chicken feet are all fresh and delicious. The service is quick but if you want dishes like Chinese Broccoli, be sure to order it from the waiter when... More

we visited Pearl on a Sunday, it was busy, but it was also a holiday weekend. The food was excellent!!! All dim sum was very hot or warm and tasted fresh. The only thing I would suggest is someone that can speak English to translate what we were eating and maybe some pictures on the menu. But, again, this is... More

In Lovely Webb Park overlooking the pond, you will find a true Chinese gem Pearl Chinese Restaurant is one of the best dim sum restaurants in San Diego. We love all the dumplings & buns, the Chinese broccoli is always perfect. Sampling what's on each cart is like opening gifts on a holiday. I sometimes get my favorite dish (soup... More

Most of the time I go here for dim sum lunch. The selection is good and food is good for san Diego. The location is nice as it over looks a pond. It is a good Chinese restaurant for events. Their more established sister restaurant is emerald which is in convoy area

The locals know best. We visited this restaurant and were the only non Chinese in the building. The food is as close to what you can get in China as I have had since I was last in China. Unless you know authentic Chinese food you will not notice the American influences. Served by the cart, Dim Sum, you chose... More

My fiance came to Pearl because we are having our destination wedding in 2014 in San Diego! (We are from land of the fighting Irish Indiana). We plan on having a traditional Chinese banquet and so decided to look around for places to have it. Pearl was recommended to us by many people and we decided to scout it out!... More
