A can't miss spot in the area for its well known cheeses. The owners set the standard for cheese and promoted the movement of cheese making in the area. Have a snack there, and be sure to take some home!

A working creamery is a great place to learn about cheese making! They call it a tour, but quickly point out the tour is all in your mouth - the host describes the cheese making process while sharing samples of several types of cheese. You can view actual cheese making going on through a large window. Quick, yummy lunches are... More

We were charged with helping our niece with her wedding reception appetizers. She requested some very specific cheeses from Cowgirl...called the store 3 weeks before the wedding and spoke with Raelynn (clearly the head of Cheese!) and discussed what we needed. She even ordered some cheeses for us that they do not normally carry. We arrived to pick up our... More

If you have taken the time to visit Cowgirl Creamery then you either know about it, you know about Point Reyes Station, or you live in Marin, Sonoma, or San Fran. Cowgirl Creamery is an exciting, rustic, charming eatery (that makes its own cheese, includes a restaurant, and has a pricey "earth-style" women's clothing boutique within its walls. The Creamery... The toastie and tomato basil soup cup was a hit with our group but no whereas popular as the Mac n cheese! The service is the best in the West as they were busy beyond belief but still kind and super helpful and accommodating. If you cannot locate one of the few tables you may take you order out to... We picked on some delicious soft creamy cheese for a picnic lunch. They let us buy a half of a small round which was a good size for 2 people. The cheese was very good on a hunk of sourdough baguette with some dry Italian salami.

Being a fan of cheese and of Cowgirl in particular, I was more than a little excited to come here. NOTE that it's closed Sundays and Mondays, at least while we were there, so double check the open hours/days before you go. They have a cheese counter as well as a kind of deli counter that sells a menu of... More

Cow Girl Creamery is worth a visit for a casual lunch or picnic supplies, if you're in the area and a fan of their cheeses (it's neat to see them being made). Seating is somewhat limited though - particularly outdoors - and there are a fair number of tour groups that pass through. Food selection is what you'd expect for... More

Their affogato, which has the best, not-too-sweet Strauss Family ice cream and delicious espresso, has to be one of the best, small deserts on the planet. Grab a variety of cheeses, some Brick Maiden bread, a bottle of wine or something from their good selection of sodas, and take one of the amazing hikes in the national park.
