We visited this restaurant after a pleasant afternoon of wine tasting in the area. There is not much going on in Plymouth, CA except for this lovely restaurant. We had very nice meals at a reasonable price and the service was attentive. Not the favorite meals of our trip but very nice and we would definitely visit Taste again when... More

Taste is a great place to stop for a first-class meal after enjoying wine-tasting in Amador County all day. The food is a bit upscale, it isn't for the family hoping for a quick meal in a diner. But, I promise you, you will have a lovely experience in this little Gold Country town. Try the mushroom cigar appetizer before... More

The food was as good as any top rated restaurant in San Francisco. The service was attentive, the noise level moderate. Definitely an experience to repeat!

This absolute gem in Plymouth would be an absolute gem anywhere. The exterior and upscale interior is true to it's gold country history; the staff professional, knowledgeable and very approachable; no pretentiousness at all. And most important the food was delicious!!!! Icing on the cake, so to speak, is having a local wine with dinner and being able to taste... More

Taste is an unexpected treat hidden on this small Main Street. The creativity and seasonal fare would rival any city anywhere. The staff is amazingly kind. It was my second time there and both times were fantastic. Mushroom cigar small plate was nice. Also had the duck confit, manicotti and gnocchi. All were fantastic.

The reviews I had read were spot on. Taste is amazing. Low key look with highest end cooking. We had 6 for dinner, so lots of variety on the table from fish to pasta to steak and lamb. All were delicious. The halibut was beautifully prepared, cooked perfectly. The mushroom log appetizer is heaven, as is the lobster app. We... More

For a large cosmopolitan city this gem would shine. It was a huge surprise to have such a gorgeous delicious sophisticated meal served beautifully in a 3 street town in the gold country of California. Every dish the 4 of us had was creatively assembled and wonderful. The service and friendliness of the staff also was a plus. Be sure... More

We call ourselves veganish because sometimes it is hard to find anything on a menu but we want to go out with friends and not be antisocial also. Sat down at Taste Restaurant and inquired about anything vegan, and the waiter came back with a separate vegan and separate vegetarian menus. Do not hesitate to order. They did one of... More

Hubby and I are spoiled - we live just 4 miles from this fabulous award winning restaurant, so we eat here often. We especially love Monday nights here when they have a three course prix fixe dinner for $30 or less that will knock your socks off. It never ceases to amaze me how the kitchen creatively puts together fresh... More

First, you have to locate Plymouth, California on the map. But, oh! is it worth it. The food is delicious and the service is top notch. Creative takes on standards like angel food cake, Boston cream pie and good old spring peas. I would highly recommend this to any and all foddies.
