Enjoyed our tacos for lunch

We have enjoyed having tacos for lunch at Alberto's Cantina in Pleasanton. It is on Main Street area in the restaurant area. We had margaritas with our lunch. Overall its an average place for Mexican food. We sat on the patio.

There are not many places where I can honestly say it's authentic, but I can here. The "Pozole" and the "Mole" are excellent. Of course you have the standard rice and beans but the main items of the dish are cooked to perfection. "Mama, can I have more" are at the tip of my mouth. Good beer selection, cocktails and... Unfortunately we had a pretty sad experience here. We waited aprx 10 mins for a server to come around. Then we ordered Chimi changa, tamale , pazole and a quesadilla and a margarita. The margarita had a harsh metalic taste. The pazole was not very brothy and the overall flavor was bland. The tamale and chimi changa were bland and... More

Mexican food is pretty good. I get food for work and bring it to the office quite a bit. They also have a great drink menu. Drinks with friends while sitting on the outdoor patio is good fun.

Love the food, but staff a bit grumpy ! Lunch time in Pleasanton and a nice break from the multitude of Italian restaurants here

The food here is pretty average (nothing great) and the service not too friendly either. We have had better Mexican food in the US and this is definitely not worth a second try. The prices of the entrees are pretty high (maybe due to the downtown location). The ambience and location of the restaurant are definitely plus points though and... More

The fish tacos were just right, and my dining companion enjoyed the steak fajitas. Nice atmosphere, good price, fine dinner. I would go again.

People are really spoiled with good Mexican food in California, so the dishes you get here are probably below average. They are ok in the sense they are perfectly edible, but don't expect that super fresh/made from scratch/home cooking feel. What this place is really good for is being a stop on a bar crawl. The place is conveniently located... More

Excellent traditional Mexican dishes and top-shelf margaritas served by prompt, friendly staff. They have an extensive tequila selection, some of which I'm pretty sure you will not find anywhere else. My wife worked there many years ago, and loved the quality of the food and drink served then. It is refreshing to see that the quality has not gone away.

Shown to our table by a girl who didn't speak or smile. It was like we were bothering her. Ordered a Cosmo & it was made with Tequila. Told the waiter & he brought back the same drink &.said it was made with vodka. I told him to keep it. I know the difference between tequila & vodka. Ordered tacos... More
