An OK place for a quick meal

A good number of brews good or bad, I am not a beer gourmet. A variety of pub style food choice that are filling and sometimes tasty, I have not had a bad meal and nothing over the top. If they are busy the service can take awhile so be patient...

This was my first experience here arranged by friends but I will be back. First of all , we gathered there on a Thursday night and had not advised the place that 14 chatty women would be arriving pretty much all at once. The server did not even blink and set about very cheerfully pushing tables together to make ready... More

Located just off of Hwy 50. This restaurant is always a winner ! The fish and chips are wonderful. We often take guests here and they ALL request a return visit when they return ! Even our New Zealand and Australia friends give them a "thumbs up " ! The fish and chips are served with fries and a wonderful... More

I don't think I've ever seen a place go down hill so badly. It seems like when a place becomes estsblished they feel they can rest on their past & that is the case here. we had a gathering & somebody brought several growlers of assorted flavors of their beers & ales. They used to be the best brewpub around.... More

Two of my favorite things to eat and drink are fish and chips and a good Stout or Porter. They don't have Porter lately but they do have an excellent stout and it is served cold which I like. The fish is long sticks lightly breaded and cooked perfect. Nice fries too with a bit of crunch. The serving size... More

I don't drink beer, but the reason I eat here is the fish and chips. Light panko breading, not greasy, mild flavored cod. Generally the French fries are very good and hot. Occasionally they have come out over-cooked and my server replaced them with a better batch. Love the tarter sauce. My wife likes to get the salad instead of... More

Been here many times and have always , no exception, had good food, service, and beer. The have a great place for the kids to play and the adults relax. they have toys to keep the kids interest and makes it a great family place.

Ok, who would have thought that Placerville had some of the best fish and chips? The place is known for their beers, which are great. It's not a fancy place, quite busy when we went. But what rocked me was the fish/chips. As fresh as you can get! Batter dipped and fried, big flaky pieces in a bucket (3), It... More

After reading some bad reviews of this place we almost didn't stop. What a mistake that would have been! We sampled 10 different beers here and liked them all. For a small operation these guys produce some great craft beer! Can't comment on the food, but if it's good beer you're after, this is the place!

Above average beers. The Red Ale was a particular standout. Sold, accommodating service. The food isn't really anything to write home about. It isn't bad, per se, it just isn't impressive in any way. Come for the beers, stay for the beers. They are worth a stop.
