Heyday - Historic and yummy

Placerville Main Street has buildings dating back to 1850's. The Heyday has uncovered its brick wall to expose its early building materials and give charming ambiance to the interior. The menu has delightful upscale pizza, salads, sandwiches and entrees, and an elegant array of wines. It tends to... read more

Wish I had read the some of the other reviews prior to eating here today. The salads and sandwiches looked good coming out and going to the other tables. When our pizza arrived it was dry and chewy. Why would an otherwise well planned restaurant serve a disappointing experience like a chewy and dry pizza with the wrong kind of... More

The Heyday is one of the best restaurants in Placerville. Great wine list paired with great food and great staff. The only down side is what also makes it enjoyable and that is the size. Very small so limited seating.

I went to lunch with a friend from out of town that had read some very good reviews on this place and wanted to try it. I stepped in around 12:30 and put in my name for two, told that it would be around 20 min which it was almost to the minute! We got a choice of two tables... More

Always great food and a wonderful selection of wines, both local and farther away. Can't go wrong with Heyday when you are visiting Main Street.

Touristy towns often feature restaurants that are over-priced, over-hyped, and ultimately disappointing. Happily, this is not the case with the Heyday Cafe. Service was excellent and our waiter was friendly and helpful. The menu offered many options that were intriguing without being overly trendy and the variety of entrees made it easy to find something appealing. We had two panini... More

This place has wonderful food and service. I took my out of town friends here and it did not disappoint. We all had the Garlic BLT with avocado and the lobster bisque. Both were amazing and everyone enjoyed their good. The service is friendly and attentive. It is a small place and very busy.

Since the Eden Vale Inn doesn't serve dinner, we drove into Placerville and had dinner at the Heyday Cafe. It was delicious- their margarita pizza was made in a wood burning oven and the salad very good. They quite the wine list!

This past week was my second time eating at Heyday Café while passing through. I love this place. Small space with a big city feel in it's menu. I'm not really a pizza fan but their pizza is a must-try. The first time we had the Truffle Chicken and this time I had the daily special which had prosciutto, olives,... More
