Placerville is worth visiting - lots of history, quaint shops, a killer hardware store. When the restaurant we intended to eat at was closed, we stumbled upon the HeyDay Cafe. They offer many of the local wines, which are surprisingly good. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Lots of great dishes to choose from in... More

After the visit to Placerville's Historical Museum, we look around for a quick lunch and spot this cafe which proudly proclaims "Voted Best Lunch in Placerville". We enter and are seated immediately on the table of our choice. The Cafe is bright and features a black board with the wine selections. A friendly waiter appears instantaneously and brings menus, water... More

Good environment and a great asset to Main Street. The menu seems to make the basics quite complicated by adding accentric tastes to traditional entrees. For what you get, the prices are a little on the higher side. If you are looking for a glass of wine in a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place! Definately attracts the health food... More

My wife and I stopped through Placerville on our way to South Lake Tahoe. Walking through the old town we noticed Heyday Cafe and went in to discover a great environment and a wonderful, full menu for a Cafe. My wife had a Caprese salad which she said stands as the best she's ever had in her life, and she... More

Had gazpacho soup, turkey wrap and caesars salad. Second time eating here and enjoyed the food immensely. This place gets crowded and worth the wait. Reservations recommended.

Called for a Saturday night reservation and on arrival was pleasantly greeted and a table for 4 was waiting. We were taken care of by the pleasant and efficient staff. Enjoyed the artichoke heart/feta dip as an appetizer. Pork tenderloin with grilled polenta was excellent. Vegetable lasagna was good. Steak "Memphis" was good although paled in comparison to the pork.... More

We travelled to Placerville with our dog so we couldn't eat at the Heyday Cafe, but we got some food to go and took it back to our B&B. The salads were excellent and the heirloom gazpacho soup--delicious.

We love this place. Great beer, nice wine selection, and gourmet Pizza, also some really nice apetizers and a few select dinner menu items. We have never had a pad experience here and have been at least 10 times or more over the past couple of years. Chris is an awesome manager and makes you feel right at home, Ben... More

Whenever I visit a friend in Placerville, we inevitably end up eating lunch at Heyday Café. On my last visit, I had a cup of bisque, a Caesar salad, and a glass of bubbly—all very good. I would like to see appetizers on the menu, but what they do offer is fresh and well made.
