A Pismo Staple!

You have to stop for ice cream here! I cannot imagine not stopping for a scoop of Dreyers Ice Cream. The service is great and the people are friendly!

Upon walking into the store, my kids were disappointed. There is nothing special, you can buy all the flavor from grocery store.

The owner at Scoop is very congenial and will help you with whatever she can. Great root beer floats, handmade chocolates, and ice cream. Additionally, they sell olives and "Frog Balls"... yep...go check it out...Frog Balls.

Many choices and really good ice creams! If I go again in Pismo Beach no doubt I'll get another ice cream there!

Why would you pay 3-4x and stand in line for something (substandard) that you could get at your local grocery store?

There is a wide variety of Dreyer's Ice Cream from which to choose. We wanted to try several flavors, but did not want as many scoops as flavors. We mixed half-scoops in our cups.

Another grimy place windows smudged, floors dirty and counters needed some Windex. There was another ice cream shop with the same ambiance

Friendly lady behind the counter. Ice cream is (from what we could see) from Dreyers, which tastes more like chemicals than home made. Still, for whatever reason, ice cream does taste better when eaten at the beach.

I'm a coastal native, but not one to seek out ice cream parlors. But a friend from the central valley took me here last year to get some ice cream for her grandkids staying up in Shell Beach. I wasn't aware Scoop, located off the main downtown street in Pismo, had been around since her son and daughter were little... More
