Pricey but well worth it. Order the bucket with King Crab. Some of the best crab I have ever tasted... just melts in your mouth. Will definitely recommend to coworkers that travel out there!

If you want really good fresh crab that comes out of its shell with ease, then come to the Cracked Crab. We walked in on a Sunday night and only had a 5 minute wait, which was just by luck. Even if you have to stand in line, the food comes out quick from the kitchen. We got the crab... More

Smaller restaurant, very casual with a lot of character! We ordered the bucket for two with snow crab, mussels and wild caught shrimp. The notoriety of the Cracked Crab stems from the way they serve their seafood "buckets". Each bucket is poured out upon the center of your table for you to feast upon! Great beach town restaurant. We dined... More

Friends recommended and got reservations for us. Fish and chips and crab were unbelievably fresh. Generous sides. The rolls were excellent. A basket of rolls would have made a great hi carb meal by itself. There is quite a line but the wait is worth it.

My wife, kids and grandkids have eaten there for at least 10 years every time we visit Pismo. I have never eaten better, even at places which charge several times as much . . . and the Cracked Crab isn't cheap! Try the Anchor Steam Beer, too!

Pros... Great beach vacation experience. Clean. Friendly. Choose your seafood for a boil and eat it off your table. Great gluten free choice. Tasty. Fresh. Good fish and chips for kids. Cons. ..Shrimp not so tasty in the boil. A bit expensive for portipns.

Stopped in for dinner during an overnight in the area. I ordered an open face crab sandwich. It was warm and dry. Disappointing. Our waitress was very busy and we did not get much service. Since we traveled all day and were hungry we ate and left. For $18 very overpriced and I'd not order it again.

We stopped in for lunch on our way out of town, and boy were we glad we did! The crab rolls were pricey, but worth it, and delicious! I also had the fresh, julienned vegetables, in lieu of fries, and they were outstanding. We caved for the home baked berry cobbler. My husband loved it & the serving was HUGE!

Small, happy lil restaurant! Staff was extremely attentive, food was great, however a little pricey, but overall worth the trip!

The this busy place had a good range of meals on it's menu. We avoided the "Cracked crab" plates which looked huge. Waiter recommended a Tolosa "No Oak" white wine which was excellent with the food. Give it a go , if you can get in you should not be disappointed.
