Classic Pismo Beach Location, Should Try if in Town

The Splash Cafe is an iconic place in Pismo Beach, and does have extremely good clam chowder. I believe the best way to get the clam chowder is in a bread bowl, but everyone is different. Have been to Splash Café multiple times, but have never had anything but the Bread Bowl Clam Chowder, so... read more

I was told to get the bread basket and this place was a local icon. I was highly disappointed I didn't get the biggest bowl of clam chowder because it was amazing! I inhaled it. The bread basket is good athletically and for experience but it's a lot bread which I don't really eat. However I LOVED the chowder and... More

Splash cafe has excellent food, I highly recommend their clam chowder but everything I've ever eaten there is good. The only thing which could be seen as a negative is it is always busy, lines out the door and down the side. Just a little trick call in your order ahead of time and skip the line

Made my way to Pismo Beach for an evening at the beach...and had to try the Splash Cafe after reading the reviews. I had to wait in line out around the corner, but it was most definitely worth it to get some of that CLAM chowder in a bread bowl!

Hands down the best clamp chowder I've ever had. I've had my fair share of clam chowder in San Francisco, Monterey, etc. But this tops them all. I will for sure be back!

Very popular seafood shop. Eat in and takeaway. The inside is crowded and probably always will be. The food is tasty and fast and reasonably priced. Find a table, (jammed in, but that's all part of the experience) order and eat.

The Splash Cafe was recommended by our host at The Tides and it was the best recommendation. We ordered the chowder which was amazing and a variety of fried options which were all good. The shrimp and crab salad was loaded with fresh shrimp and crab. The thing that made us go back for seconds was the steamers... had a... More

Splash is well known for their chowder. It is good but there is always a crowd and it is very noisy. If you are going to sit down and relax while you eat, this is not the place to go. It is great to get it to go. Honestly I prefer Brad's which is right across the street. Their chowder... More

Seemed to be the only place in town with a queue out the door and now understand why. We both had the chowder in bread roll and thought it was delicious. Can understand why this has won so many awards, thick, creamy and plenty of clams. Although we had to queue it moved quickly and the wait for food was... More
