Clam chowder baby!

By far the best clam chowder I have ever eaten.....better than San Francisco! The bread bowl was delicious too. Great location, couple blocks to the beach. My wife had the fish and chips...not so good, probably because we're accustomed to Pacific or Atlantic cod. Not sure what they used.

Don't let the line keep you away. It moves quickly and the food is prepared and served quickly as well. The chowder is very good and thicker than most chowders. The fish and chips is not deep fried, and that was a welcome surprise after the creamy chowder. This is a nice place for a fun quick meal.

Like the Splash needs another clam chowder review, but I try the cup of goodness anywhere I can. This is now next to my favorite from The Eatery in Trinidad, Ca. LOVE the Splash Cafe chowder!

The reviews were divided amongst our group, so I'll try to be fair to all. What we can agree on is that the restaurant itself is really neat. You cant see just how much seating there is from the line out the door. We saw many people turn away, thinking there was no room. Lucky for us, there was plenty.... More

Being from the UK, clam chowder is not an everyday food for me. I tried the filled loaf with chowder. It needs the addition of Tabasco to kick it into life for me... Then it was tasty. Reading that this one of the best places for chowder I would hate to go to a place that served an inferior version.... More

Always a must! I cant say anything bad about Splash Cafe! They are the best place in Pismo, when you are super hungry for a bread bowl filled with the best clam chowder and the line is wrapped around the building they are quick at serving you as fast as they can. My boyfriend didn't like clam chowder but i... More

You will get an argument any time the topic Best Chowder, Best Fish and Chips comes up. Well I like Splash Cafe. Its a block away from My Favorite Motel Dolphin Cove Hotel. If you time it right you can avoid the line. They also make a great breakfast. The Atmosphere is cool. But we usually go back and eat... More

When you're making your way down the Pacific Highway, a Pismo Beach stop has to include the Splash Cafe. No frills, just the best clam chowder you've ever had and will have in your life. If you want to sit down peacefully and enjoy a quiet meal, go elsewhere. If you're all about good food and great energy, get in... More
