Really good chowder, but the place is too small and usually there is a long line to get in. I think they have 2 restaurants in San Luis Obispo, but I haven't been to those yet. Next time I'm there I'll try them out.

The clam chowder was the best I had during my vacation to Pismo. I had the soup and sandwich combo. Probably could have done with just the soup, the sandwich wasn't anything extraordinary. My friend had the shrimp cocktail with the large shrimp and she said it was really good due to the cocktail sauce. Went at an off peak... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who goes here frequently. It looks like a hole in the wall. Everyone is lined up outside and it took about 30 minutes to get in. We ordered their world famous clam chowder in a bread bowl with clam topping (more clams, a little bacon). How do you spell heaven.....best clam chowder and... More

There are typically long lines at this restaurant during the lunch and dinner hours so go a little earlier or later than normal if you want to avoid the lines. The service is always very good and the food is excellent. Nothing fancy but great for a family meal.

Long line, long wait. I got the chowder and grilled loaf, both were less than good. I didn't finish either. Chowder tasted like clammy flavored cream, lacked herbs and depth. The bread was grilled with tasteless oil, no flavor, and dried out. Wish I went somewhere else.

I had to wait in a long line for 20 min just to get my order placed. Than I had to wait 20 more min to find out that my order got mixed up. It was fixed in a minute and I had great clams.

Many trips to Pismo with family and never ate at Splash Cafe because line has always been so ridiculously long and kids are too hungry to wait. So decided to give it a try this time. Small place...too crowded. Chowder in bread bowl was very good, but I'm not very happy with the fish and chips. Fries were soggy and... More

The clam chowder served at this cafe is fine, it is average, nothing more. It is not worth standing in line for any length of time, certainly not the 45 minutes we waited on a Friday afternoon. The service is efficient but the dining areas are busy and crowded. It is not a casual dining experience. In short, we went... More

After several visits to Pismo we finally tried Splash Cafe. Usually the line intimidated us but this time, we went for it. We went at busy lunch time and had to wait around the corner. But the real bummer, and the reason it doesn't get 5 dots, is because we had to split our party up amongst a few tales... More
