Had the fish and chips....they are known for the clam chowder I hear but I did not try it ....it looked good though but honestly this is a fish fry place very casual and nothing fancy about the menu or atmosphere.....not that there's anything wrong with that

I was skeptical when I heard this one place had the best chowder but with the line out the door and down the street I had to try it. YUM. It was so good and very reasonable priced too :)

One of the better clam chowders if you are willing to wait in line. A small place with a loyal following often with a line around the corner. We happened to walk right in. The chowder is thick with plenty of clams and potatoes. Four sizes and quick service.

I absolutely hate and have always hated clam chowder until I had a bread bowl from splash cafe!! I make an annual trip with my buddies to pismo every year and have to stop here at least once! Only reason it's not getting a 5 is because if the soggy fries. I'll still be back though

When I lived in California, we, kids and I would pack up the van and drive to Pismo, we camped, the grand finale, was always our treat of Splash Cafe and their superior clam chowder! Every part of this restaurant rocked! Often we had to wait in a long line,, anticipation of joy!, we would order and look for a... More

Oh my God it is the Bomb! I know for a fact that they use whipping cream as a milk to get it so think! It is better than I have ever had anywhere including San Francisco.

Americans know how to eat well. Most are discerning and understand good food from rubbish. This small, almost understated cafe' is the absolute bees knees when it comes to Clam Chowder. We have had this dish in Maine, Vermont, Boston etc.etc. All great but this is the BEST!!! They are so casual in here that you feel comfortable and at... More

We are clam chowder aficionados, having looked for the Holy Grail of Clam Chowder from coast to coast. Our quest is for the TRADITIONAL New England chowder which is a broth and not thick wall paper paste. Add to this that I make an award winning chowder and you see we have high standards when judging our chowder. With the... More

This isn't fine dining. This isn't fancy-schmancy. No tablecloths or silver cutlery. No well-dressed waiters. But it's probably the best clam chowder (in a roll) that I've very had. Friendly service, great prices and something you just have to try.
