Chowder in Pismo

We were camping at Pismo Beach in April 2015. Several restaurants in town claim to have 'award winning clam chowder' so it's hard to know where to go for this California beach town staple. We met a local couple who raved about the clam chowder at Rosa's Ristorante Italiano, so we decided to give... read more

Really nice restaurant with a family feel. Pastas were delicious. The bread is made fresh and comes out steaming from the oven. Delicious.

The food at Rosa's is divine and the staff make you feel like family. Doug is an excellent chef and so personable you feel like you've known him forever. I had the butternut squash ravioli, which I should have ordered more of for the next day because I couldn't get it off my mind. Their mojitos are great as well... More

Delicious meal great portions. Highly recommended. Staff very friendly and attentive. We visited on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was really busy.

Ate here one busy Saturday night. Starters of minestrone and mozarella with bread and tomatoes were fine. For mains I ordered linguine vongole, and it came with no only a few clams in their shells, but with also what looked like a whole tin of clams tipped over it. Not was I was expecting and to be honest, quite odd;... More

We wanted a light meal after a day of visiting wineries. Started with an excellent Italian wine from the extensive wine list. Shared a margarita pizza and spumoni -- both excellent. We will definitely return for a full meal on our next trip to the Central Coast, since the customers around us were obviously quite satisfied with their more extensive... More

Warm welcoming staff with lots of attention. I had a seafood dish that was very tasty and filling. The ravioli are obviously hand made and the gravy (sauce) was very nice without any heavy overpowering flavor. A definite recommend. We will be back here to try more of their full menu.

Rosa's is a well-established restaurant and a local favorite - the original owners have died and their son is carrying on the tradition. The wine list is wonderful and supports many of the Central Coast wineries. It would be difficult to make a mistake. The menu is a wonderful blend of southern and northern Italian cooking experiences. So, there is... More

We went to Rosa's because we've liked their food in the past. Well they just keep getting better. The service is great, the hostess and waitress friendly and their hot fresh bread are a meal in itself. Excellent atmosphere quiet, clean and as always there food is top notch. A very happy customer.

My Husband and I stayed in Pismo Beach for 2 nights in October 2014 as part of a road trip. We came across this restaurant by chance and ended up eating here on both nights. The food was delicious and although I am not normally a wine drinker, I have to say the wine we had was also very good.... More
