I drifted from my usual bowl of clam chowder and selected other offerings. I had a shrimp/crab salad that left me disappointed for it had a little shrimp and little crab for $15.95. The presentation was mediocre...OK, I realize I am in Pismo Beach and not SF but I would expect a good seafood salad. Marie Callendar, Pismo Beach, has... more
I've had clam chowder all up and down the East Coast, Boston, Maine, Outer Banks....everywhere! Brads just consistently serves the BEST clam chowder anywhere. JUST the right amount of potatoes (not loaded), just the right consistency (not overly creamy or too watery), not too salty, and CLAMS!!! Not just a few little bits...but nice generous portions of clams. The chowder... more

Chowder was GREAT!! lots of clams, so thick and rich you could almost stand a knife up in it. The tuna sandwitch was very good; lots of tuna for a half sand, bread very fresh. Second visit i... more
Whenever we hit Pismo, we ALWAYS eat at the Splash, but this time the line was just too long and we were too hungry so we decided to give Brad's a try (right across the street). We got the chowder...my hubby's in a bread bowl and I got a special that included a bowl of chowder, bread and a glass... more
Every once in a while someone writes a "review" based on their own bad mood rather than reality. Brad's is excellent. Their clam chowder is better than across the street, their hamburgers are wonderful and the staff friendly and attentive. Brad's doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, the selection and quality of their... more
