Good but plain

Just nothing to shout out about - food is good, place is clean but just a cafe. No real ambiance or atmosphere

Place is quaint due to its diner appeal. Ate here while Mexico played USA soccer game which added to the atmosphere. Authentic dishes along with popular. Ask for authentic staff recommendations. So much better than trendy less authentic versions available. If in Pismo, this is a must eat at. Really friendly staff and free, yummy, authentic dip and real corn... More

This is a little whole in the wall and was really good. Everyone was so nice. We got enchiladas, beans and rice. It was really good. Salsa and chips were awesome and unlimited. They have a big menu. This place won't disappoint.

Went for a drink and small bite. Menu is ok but nothing special. Service very friendly though! They have a cute little patio to sit which was perfect to have a few beers.

I remembered seeing a review on TripAdvisor for this place. Since we were craving Mexican we decided to stop in. The chips and salsa were fresh and yummy! I ordered an enchilada/taco dinner, and my BF ordered the three item fajitas. Meat was seasoned perfectly, beans freshly made, portions large. .. overall great meal.

Our first visit was enhanced by the great server who was very personable and friendly (owners daughter). It was her service that brought us back the next day for menudo. The service the next day - ehhh - he was there because he had to work. The menudo was good and a bit different than the midwestern mexican version. The... More

The food is just okay. It's not horrible or anything, just not anything stellar. The service is always great however and the owners are super nice people! They also own another restaurant in Guadalupe just a few miles south of this one. I haven't been, but would suspect that the food would be more authentic there.

Terrible! The staff not friendly, tables dirty. Chips not good, old tasting. After we ordered we waited at least over 1/2hour for our food and when she brought it my son had ordered something with beans and they put a salad on there to replace the beans, she said they ran out of beans! How the hell do u run... More

That's about it. The rice and beans were bland and for a Mexican restaurant that's surprising. Would not go back there.

This is the old "Viva Mexico"... and has new owners. To start the host was rude and the waitress kept arguing with the cook. She moved very slow. (We waited 40 minutes for breakfast on a 1/2 full place). The kitchen was full of 10-13 year old boys eating standing up in view of the patrons. No chips and salsa... More
