Amazing tasting menu & wine pairing

If you are visiting Paso Robles, this is a must go to for supper. We had the chef's surprise tasting menu with accompanying wines and we were not disappointed with any of it. Ok....I am really into food and wine..worked in restraunts myself and reseived culinary training at Culinary Institute of AMERICA, and dined at many to the finest restraunts in the world. Chefs like Keller, Robuchon,Savoy. I say this not to brag but to put in perspective my review. Came in late like 8pm..on a saturday night and while crowded they extend... More

We have eaten here many times on our annual wine tour of Paso Robles. Generally, we have loved the restaurant and been extremely enthusiastic about recommending it. No more. We ate there a few weeks back. We had a reservation and walked into an empty restaurant. They put us near the kitchen--the least desirable table. We asked to move to... More

We enjoyed our dinner, but we were disappointed that Laurent's highly touted tasting menu is offered only on a "let the chef surprise you" basis. Most guests went that route, but in our experience, surprises are not always delightful... If you do go that route, by all means add the wine pairing...it's a bargain compared to splitting a bottle! The... More

We arrived on Saturday with a group of 15 - totally unplanned. (Our flying club landed at Paso Robles after diverting from another fogged in airport.) The restaurant handled our large group well - we outnumbered the other patrons in the restaurant. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. The menu had a number of excellent traditional items as well as... More

Chef retains a deft hand with sauces! Prix Fixe Valentine's Day Dinner, though pricey and a surprise not mentioned at the time I made reservations, was professionally staffed, well-orchestrated, and a palate pleaser! Had planned to taste the Bistro's standing menu fare which looked to be intriguing, so the surprise Prix Fixe approach was a disappointment, as was not being... More

You - and I'm writing this for anyone who finds themselves hesitating at the thought of dining at a French inspired restaurant - will love this place. Leave all of those preconceptions that are giving you pause back in the hotel room and go to Bistro Laurent. Yes there are tablecloths but they are not white! Yes they serve the... More

Always exceptional in every way! The mussels gratin was served hot to perfection and the flavor was fabulous. The lamb was delicious. The apple beignet was so good that my husband wished that we had ordered two and not shared! We had two different reds by the glass, there are more available than are offered on the wine list ,... This is a 5-star restaurant in every respect. Food, service, ambiance could not have been better. Wines seemed a bit pricey but an excellent wine list from which to select.

We returned to Paso Robles for the weekend and were excited and nervous about revisiting Bistro Laurent for dinner since our last visit was so fantastic. Well the second time around was JUST as fantastic. We have dined all over the world (including France) and Bistro Laurent remains one of our top 3 worldwide. It remains one of the best... More
