Great seafood dinner, service and atmosphere

I live in San Diego and we have lots of great seafood places to pick from. This place in Paso is worth seeking out. It is not a mexican seafood place as the name implies, they are more european in their approach than anything else. Items besides seafood are available. It is a very small family... read more

We always ask the locals. Our hotel operator told us they had great seafood and we would get 10% off with the room key. We walked in on a Monday night and there was only one table, so we thought uh-oh! Buuuuut - - - The food was AWESOME! Really Really Great. Highly recommended.

Chico has the best seafood in town and the prices are reasonable. The family run restaurant is a favorite for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Unlike many of the new fine restaurants in Paso Robles, Chico's is elegant in its simplicity and entirely unpretentious. You may not find the latest trendy micro greens here, but our raw oysters tasted like they had been just plucked fresh from the sea, the seafood pasta was filled with scrumptious morsels - bay scallops, fish, shrimp, clams and mussels... Busy and a little on the small side, timing is everything with a group of 8 on a Sunday. But we got in without much of a wait and the food was excellent, staff friendly and service perfect.

Chico's Café is a casual setting with very good options for breakfast and lunch. Fish tacos are one of our favorites. Particularly excellent is the manner in which Chico does his fish entrees at dinner time - - the seafood pasta option is outstanding, and his calamari is always a favorite. Halibut and scallops also excellent. Wine available.

This place was spotlessly clean and that is huge to me. The breakfast choices were the standard fare but prepared well. Service was a little slow when we were there and there was only us and one other table. It appeared that there might have been a glitch in the kitchen. I would like to rate it between average and... We discovered Chico's when 4 years ago and have been there on average every 2 or 3 weeks. It's the best fish restaurant I've been to and Chico's Sand Dabs cannot be beat. Delicious, light, and healthy. His wine selection is very nice, but you can't go wrong with his house wines. His deserts are to die for.

We took the recommendation by one of the locals who reviewed this restaurant here on Trip Advisor, and we weren't disappointed. Nestled next to Cold Stone Creamery, Chico's isn't fancy, but the food is very good and excellent value for Paso Robles. My husband and I both ordered the halibut florentine. ($25) Delicious! It was served with vegetables, sliced roasted... More

We visited twice. The first time was for lunch. The turkey sandwich was really good. My husband had the BBQ beef special, and it was OK, but not worth the price. We did enjoy breakfast there. I had the applesauce pancakes. YUM!
