Slippery Shimp! Yum!

Great food, fast service, easy parking, comfortable tables. We have been going to Yang Chow in China Town for years, but have had it with the cramped tables, long waits, and tough parking situation. Pasadena has outshines the China Town location

From the outside it looks like a simple local restaurant that has been around. Once inside the service and food gives you every reason to come back for more. This was our second visit and we will def come again. From Alabama to California, it's one of the best.

Yang Chow is one of my top two favorite Chinese restaurants. The Pasadena location doesn't have the same look or feel as Downtown Los Angeles, but the food is the same. The slippery shrimp is always the got to for our group as it is alway fabulous. My other favorites that they do the best are the pork fried green... More

The day before we had eaten at the Panda Inn which was very good, so we thought we would find one even better. We were seated promptly, but what followed was 5 different dishes with the same awful gooey brown sauce. We had inquired whether each dish was gluten free and were told it was. The sauce obviously had wheat... More

We went to this restaurant on a recent visit to Los Angeles. It was recommended to us as "east coast style" Chinese food, a "style" we have been craving since moving to Las Vegas two years ago. I liked this place immediately. Just walking in took me back to many of the more familiar places in D.C. and New York.... More

This is the best dish they have. The service is attentive and quick. The layout and food is better they their place in Chinatown. Soups are tops and portions very good.

My wife & I returned to Yang Chow for our 3rd visit. If anything, it was even better than our prior visits. Food is excellent, portions huge, (each entree is more than ample for 2), service pleasant and prompt, and prices low. If the OK interior was a bit more attractive, they would easily rate 5 stars. As it stands,... More

The food is excellent, the service, prompt & attentive, the price is right and the portions are enormous....each entree is easily enough for two hungry people. The lamb w scallions was superb, the chicken soong (they call it soon) served in individual lettuce cups, fine, and I will return quickly for my 3rd visit to continue working my way thru... More

Make sure to check out the chef's specialties. Particularly enjoyed the clams and the slippery shrimp. And the 'hot sauce' on the table. An unusual sesame and pepper blend that is actually quite flavorful and NOT super hot. Fine, rapid service, good parking.

We went here with family. There were 8 of us. They gave us a corner table -- we had reservations. It was a round table with a lazy susan in the middle. We ordered licorice shrimp, mu shu pork, spinach, beef and broccoli, plus several other dishes and shared around. We had spring rolls for all to start. We had... More
