A Little Quiet Birthday with Friends

Nice menu selection is always a good start to a pleasant evening out. Bijou gives a nice variety from haute French to some middle-of-the-road fare for which you don't have to be an astronomical gastronomer to enjoy. I had a Seabass which was wonderfully prepared in a delicious wine sauce which... read more

Cafe Bizou is a favorite for celebrations. The fare is consistent along with the ambiance and the staff's attentiveness and attention to detail. We always have a wonderful experience.

A group of us had dinner here and were disappointed. The service is timely, the menu broad but the food was bland and without flavor. Many of us had ordered the fixe prix special including an appetizer, main dish and a dessert. I love escargot and have eaten them in so many French restaurants but the preparation here was completely... More

Cafe Bizou is an energetic restaurant with a traditional decor that is a great place for a meal when in Pasadena. Quaint, yet large and vibrant. The interior could use some renovations but service is good and the food is fair. Not all the dishes are consistent but the food isn't bad. On this particular occasion, the Chinese Chicken Salad... As former residents of Pasadena, we have been going to Cafe Bizou for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. Although I often have the Steak Poivre -- usually with the carrot rosemary soup, last night I had the Beef Wellington (a Sunday night special). Both have been consistently excellent. My wife had the Macadamia nut crusted alaskan halibut... More

We had dinner here, my husband's sort rib was lovely and he poured what he thought was more of the sauce which was in a little pot on the plate onto the vegetables but it was tomato ketchup - yuk. I had the plate of vegetables - they were dry the best bit on the plate was the Orange couscous... More

Bring your own bottle of wine and enjoy a fixed menu of French cuisine. A regular menu also. Nice environment. Always great service.

On the plus side: good location and nice ambience, acceptable but standard food, very reasonable prices, prompt service. On the minus side: the menu contains mostly routine items and routine preparations. With a bit of imagination, it could be substantially improved and made much more attractive and interesting.

This was our first visit to Cafe Bizou, taken there by friends who like it and eat there often. We enjoyed our meal, finding it to be mostly well-executed and a decent value. Several of us had the $32 price-fix meal, which included an appetizer, main course, and dessert (each category had numerous choices). The portions were sizeable, and represented... More

Bizou disappointed. It is a rambling affair in an excellent location. Service was slow and absent of attention, the food came out slow. I had a salad, a panini that came with fries, and water. The panini and fries were past optimal serving temperature, but I didn't want to send it back because I didn't want to wait another 40... More
