While in Pasadena for a play, we stopped here for the always soooo good cheeseburgers. Be sure to order them with grilled onions! They never disappoint. Order a piece of pie too; the fresh peach when in season is divine, but all the taste-homemade fruit pies are good. They use real whipped cream, so you'll think you're a kid again... More

I went on the recommendation of a friend that has been coming to Pasadena for years. Walking in you might think the food would be lousy.... wrong! The place has a vintage feel to it, its been open over 50 years now and is one of those eating legends. I didn't veer of the name and went with a burger... More

Pie is bad. Not only is it highly overpriced (as with the drinks and the food, I just went with water), the pie tastes like fake pie. Clearly not homemade, which is far more subtle -- this is not.

Came here for a lunch meeting and got a seat right at the bar. The waitress was pleasant and funny -even though she kept forgetting our drink order. This is a no frills diner serving good burgers and even better pies. My burger was tasty, somewhat akin to a burgerville burger if I were to compare it to a fast... More

Enjoy sitting at the counter and having a cheeseburger flipped on the grill, which tastes pretty darn good. I haven't tried any other items for lunch, so I can not comment on the rest of the menu. The sodas are well carbonated, good syrup mix and lacking that funky - we - haven't - cleaned - the - apparatus -... More

Pie and Burger is a great little burger shop in Pasadena. The burgers aren't trendy and the menu hasn't changed in years, but they taste great. This is a Pasadena institution with the old style counter. I would have given 5 stars but our last visit had slow service and the place could use a little cleaning in general. With... More

This place has seen better days. We dropped in for brunch on a Saturday mid-morning. Our server was gloomy and mechanical. The coffee had no "umph". Good coffee should infuse the air with enough aroma to wake one up, otherwise why bother? My sunny side up eggs was cold, the bacon cooked to death and dry. Service was sluggish that... More

I saw Pie n' Burger on Burgerland and vowed to try the double cheeseburger featured on the show. I ordered it and my wife ordered a chili-cheese omelet with hash browns. The portions were huge, the flavor was fabulous. I should have only ordered a single cheeseburger as I struggled to finish the double. The omelet was a huge serving... More

Have been stopping here for years for a perfect cheeseburger with a great sauce (ask for grilled onions). The pies are wonderful with delicious crusts. They use a huge dollop of real whipped cream like Grandma used to make on their fruit pies. The peach pie, when in season, is just the best, but all the pies are good. Not... More

I'm not sure how they prepare their patties, but these burgers are addictive! The place itself is a dive, I guess on purpose. The staff are friendly but not overly warm. It's cash only. None of this gets in the way of enjoying these burgers. The pies are good too.
