A diner type place with great food

The hamburger was made like they to be made when I was a kid. Thinner pattie, tasty bun, topped with lettuce, pickle, and thousand island dressing. And then there was the pie! Lemon merengue pie, not syrupy sweet with a light crust, homemade this morning. My partner's pancakes both looked good... read more

We were here for a nearby event for Pi Day (3-14-15 at 9:26:53) so decided to go in and have a late breakfast/early lunch. The restaurant is long and narrow with mostly counter seats and about five tables, some of which seat four and others that only fit two. The menu presented typical diner fare. I had the patty melt... Total greasy spoon that's been around for longer than I'm alive...with some seriously yummy burgers. Nothing fancy here - just beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and "secret" sauce. One order of fries is enough for the family. Sure we can't eat here every day (not if we want our cholesterol to stay within normal range), but it's a nice treat. Room... More

Service was great! Burgers were pricey for what you get, hand mixed sodas were surprisingly good and of course the pie was excellent. The parking was so bad that we almost went somewhere else!

I was excited to try this classic Pasadena burger spot. Very disappointed. Difficult parking. Surly staff. Flat soda. Fries taste like fish. Don't do it.

The title pretty much says it all. It's not quite a counter diner, but it's not a restaurant either. The burgers are fantastic, and the pie tastes like mom's homemade.

the name of the restaurant is appropriate. The service is excellent AND the servers make your soft drinks what I guess is the old fashion way.....syrup. Add carbonated water, mix by hand and serve, sweet. Small hole in the wall with no reservations accepted. Worth the wait!

Pie N Burger is something of a throwback. The area around it has been gentrified and become very upscale but the atmosphere here is still pure '60s. The food is simple but delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I don't think that any item on the menu was over $10 unless you order a whole pie. The burgers (turkey... More

While this is a very welcoming diner in Pasadena, I was disappointed at the level of cleanliness here. I travel quite a bit and try to always offer the positives to every restaurant I visit but this one needs to know that they simply have to clean their place up. While the food is good it's pricey. When sitting at... More

Pie & Burger is a legend in Pasadena. When you walk in you feel like you are at an Old Burger joint. The service is pretty good but you should definitely know when you want when you order. Love how they pump soda. Great fries as well. I've noticed some people complain about the prices but they are not that... More
