Very Nice Dinner

The dining room is very nice - a traditional nice restaurant style. The food choices were quite nice. Two of us tried the chef's Kaiseki menu. That was expensive and, while very delicious, did not measure up to its name (which, to us, means food as art as well as for the palate), as the... read more

Last week, my wife and I returned to Maison Akira for the first time in nearly five years. Our first meal there was in the fall of 2010 -- and in the years since we had thought often about this fine French restaurant, led by a masterful Japanese chef, Akira Hirose. What kept us away was 3000 miles of geographic... More

The food was fabulous and the service was impeccable. This was our first time here and definitely won't be our last. The fusion of our two favorite cuisines French and Japanese make for a tasty and innovative menu. Cannot wait to return.

Made reservations on Christmas Eve through Online booking. Nowhere on their home page did they mention that it was a set menu that evening, needless to say it was very expensive. We are use to gourmet restaurants in Europe where you get wonderful professional service good food for your money. We had to remind them of everthing from silverwear and... More

The decor of the restaurant looks rather high end, but the Chilean sea bass which is their signature dish appeared to be more like home cooking. It tasted Ok but the presentation was so so.

Had a fabulous dinner with the family and very close friends. The wine was excellent and the meal to go with. Dishes we really liked were: Starters - Japanese Eggplant ‘Dengaku’ for starters, Escargots de Bourgogne; Entrees - Alaskon Salmon, 24 Days Aged Angus Beef Rib Eye Steak and the rack of Lamb; Desserts - Souffle was out of this... I was here the day after valentine's day...we had a prix fixe menu, and I was very unimpressed with the food offered...everything was blend and very dull...very disappointed, especially for the price asked.

We celebrated our dad's 70th birthday here with our family, we had 25 total including 6 young kids. They set up two tables in the back which was nice, not private, but semi private. We've been here for dinner before, so I knew the quality of the food was good. But you never know with a buffet, even at a... More

We had a fabulous dinner at Maison Akira, and we were impressed with the friendliness and authenticity of the staff. Our table chose the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairings. They also offer a 4-course and 9-course tasting menu, plus the regular selections. But for us, the 6-course was perfect. Not too much food, as the portions were small. But... More

This was everything one could wish for: Superb food, excellent wine, and an elegant atmosphere. The Miso marinated Chilean Sea Bass (their signature dish) was one of the finest dishes I've had during my visits to the US, spanning over 35 years. The house wine (blanc) was excellent. Don't forget to order dessert along with the mains, as these can... More
