Eight of us went to lunch yesterday at The Raymond for a birthday lunch. The Raymond has a wonderful reputation being an upscale restaurant in Pasadena. It is very dark so be prepared. We did get the room in the back patio area so there were windows all around They brought us fruit to start, which was a nice touch.... More

The setting is very nice in a restored old home. The noise level is low enough to allow conversation. The wine list is extensive and the servers are knowledgeable about its contents. The menu is varied and interesting. Now...the few negatives: Service was "American".. Not professional (eg. Stretching over diners to serve others, not bringing all the entrees at the... More

We just had a congratulatory dinner for one of my coworkers who just got her MBA. It was a great place! It is a bit small, but very quaint. The service was excellent. The servers were attentive, courteous, and expedient. The food was amazing with many ecclectic starters, small plates, and entrees, from tandoori cauliflower, mussels, and scallops, to beets,... It was built in 1866, burnt down, rebuilt in the time of the depression, sold for land and the only thing left is the "guest cottage" which is huge. It is like a house on inside with different areas for dining. The outside has a huge deck with a nice subdued waterfall. The service was great!! The waitress was quite... More

What a great menu! The chef is very inventive with taste pairings. We had nine appetizers to share and every one was a delight - ask for the pork tacos, which are on the bar menu but not the main menu - there seems to be a bit of apple or something sweet which nicely offsets the side of hot... When you are tired of the same old boring meal, go here. They have such a diverse and interesting menu that I think I will be going back until I have tried everything! The stone fruit and buratta salad was out of this world.

Took my mother to the Raymond after Easter services hoping for a special day & meal. First off , when I made reservations they took my credit card and informed me that I would be charged $25 per person if I did not show for Easter Brunch. When we arrived there were empty tables and plenty of room for walk... More

I had been wanting to eat at this historic restaurant which is in the caretaker's cottage for the long gone Raymond Hotel. We had reservations for Easter dinner for the patio. Charming interior with lots of nice art. We entered The empty restaurant and asked for a table outside per our reservation; we were sent to the bar, where apparently,... More

We waited 1/2 hour for a bloody mary .The wait didnt worth it! No taste of votka and no special cocktail for the price! Waiter and overall service wasn't great. Just for the price the entire experience was terrible. Eggs benedict are similar to an average breakfast place and the patio is near freeway...car noise bad music
