Panda Inn is the source and original inspiration behind the nationally recognized Panda Express restaurants. Andrew Cherng and his father, Master Chef Ming Tsai Cherng, opened the first Panda Inn in Pasadena, California in 1973. Their goal was to share the culinary arts of Mandarin and Szechuan cuisines with their local community by emphasizing the Chinese art of balancing tastes and textures to provide a dining experience that delights the senses. Today, still family-owned with five locations in Southern California, Panda Inn honors over 40 years of heritage and takes great pride in serving delectable cuisine with attentive service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Very Good Chinese Food

Good service, a varied menu. Staff was willing to accommodate one of us with a gluten free diet and another in a wheel chair. Food was fresh and authentic Chinese.

This is so sad, I have been coming here since it was in a little house 40 years ago. It has been thru many changes all improvements until now. It used to be a good place for a special dinner with great dishes. We went for dinner on a week day, it was packed...kids running all over, babies crying, people... More

we did take out. I'd heard great things. It was good, but perhaps expectations were too high. Had cashew chicken, spring rolls, broccoli beef, pork fried rice. I would order it again. Price is $10-$14 per dish.

Came here with a large group for a Sunday family brunch. It was very busy and the food was decent . Lots of selection would have liked some more items that weren't so sweet ... And more noodle dishes . It would be nice to have some soup like chicken sweet corn. Overall it was nice and I would recommend... More

I ordered Cashew Chicken, which came with salad, steamed rice, and egg roll. It was just enough to get me full and it was delicious! Great price... Will come again!

Went there this evening for dinner with the family. We ordered the lettuce wraps for appetizers. Then 4 entrees for the main meal, the honey walnut shrimp is amazing! Ordered a couple of cocktails then 2 deserts to share. The bill came up to $98. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. My wife and I are going... More

When I was a kid there was a little house serving excellent Chinese food standing here. At the time Andrew the owner (still) would come out to the tables and talk to you. Eating there was always a treat and still is. Now it is a big pretty restaurant with several dining rooms, bar and a take-out department. A friend... More

After a couple of years since I've been to the original Panda Inn in Pasadena.I grew up in Pasadena and I have been going there for years, but haven't been back for awhile. So, I went back to try it and bring back great memories. It wasn't quite the same as before, but the quality of the food made up... More

Despite the plethora of Panda Express places throughout Calif and HI, this was a fun restaurant to go back to. Their food is consistently good.

We ate at Panda Inn because we enjoy Asian cuisine and it was within walking distance of our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the atmosphere and discovered that Panda Inn is not the average Asian food restaurant. Fresh ingredients were used in our Cashew Chicken and there were plenty of fresh vegetables (bok choy, onion, etc)... More
