We have been this Roy's restaurant several times before. This is the first time that we were disappointed. We shared the vegetable eggroll as an appetizer. They were served hot and delicious. We shared 2 fish entrees, the tempura sea bass and butterfish. The butterfish had excellent texture, moist and very tasty. But, the sea bass tasted old and not fresh.... More

I've been to many of the other Roy's restaurants around the West Coast and Hawaii, but this was my first time to the Pasadena location. I'm on their email list so once in a while a deal comes along, this deal was $25 off $50. I was meeting a friend for dinner that lives near Pasadena so we took advantage... More

My husband and I dined at Roy's on September 4, 2014, to celebrate our anniversary. Roy's exceeded our expectations. Anthony, our waiter, has attentive and polite. Our food was magnificent. We shared the red curry chicken samosas appetizer which was spectacular. It came with three puffy samosas. We shared two different entrees: the Roy's trio with three types of fish... More

We discovered Roy's more than 10 years ago and have been to nearly very location. The Roy's menu and restaurant environment are pretty standarized across all locations. The menu offers a unique selection of dishes (Hawaiian & Asian inspired) that one does not find in other restaurants. In recent years we have found a great variation in the quality of... More

We ordered Misoyaki Butterfish (a family favorite), Shutome and Sea Scallops. The Sea Scallops were moist and not overcooked. There were 3 adults and an overactive toddler. We ordered edamame without the spice and we had to ask for it twice. I think the waiter, Chris, appeared annoyed and uneasy with my grandson. When it was time to pay the... More

I stopped into Roy's while on a business trip. While I did have a very tasty salmon, I had an even more incredible lemon cheesecake dessert and on another night, had a fantastic pineapple upside-down cake with coconut ice cream. The Roy's Mai Tai and Hawaiian Martini were excellent as well. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

What a refreshing thing to have so many polite servers. I have never heard so many excuse me's, pardon me's, thank you's and apologies in any restaurant ever. We loved the fact that they were so well mannered. Something that every restaurant should learn and take note of. To top it off the food was fantastic! Just make sure that... More

I learned from Roy's how stodgy and conservative my dining taste is. I'm not really into adventurous, new recipes. Roy's strength to me is, he does exotic new twists to old dishes, that aren't so odd that a diner like me is put off. I enjoyed these new flavors. And yes I do love seeing artful presentations. I had asian... More
