I arrived in Pasadena very jet-lagged, and needed to have dinner at what was, locally, the early hour of 5:00 pm. A colleague and I found Roy's just by accident. We had a very pleasant meal, and enjoyed our serendipitous find. After spending all day in airports and airplanes, it was a relief to be able to sit outside on... More

We have always enjoyed eating at Roy's in San Diego and Las Vegas. We decided to try the Roy's in Pasadena. As usual, the presentation of the food was unique and beautifully displayed. My husband ordered the prix fixe menu - potstickers were okay, the salmon was good but the carrot cake was really dry. I ordered the Teppanyaki Shrimp... More

I took a friend to Roy's Restaurant for his birthday. I made the reservation and they amazing staff took it from there. He received a special birthday message inside his menu which set the tone for the entire experience. My friend has a seafood allergy and the wait staff was so knowledgeable and helpful in letting us know what foods... More

I'd been wanting to try a Roy's and tonight found myself just a block away from one at dinner time, but with only an hour before an appointment. I went for it and am glad I did. I alerted my waiter of my limited time and he was SUPER. I skipped appetizers and went straight for the entrée choosing the... More

This is a great restaurant, except for the fact that they don't serve bread. I don't know why one would make great sauces if you don't have any bread to sop it with

Great location on the main strip. Nice decor, fairly large restaurant, spacious, tables well separated. A bit noisy for intimate conversation. Very attentive service. We dined at a busy time but were not rushed. Very nice selection of appetisers and shareables. My wife had the scallops and I had the spare ribs...both excellent, creatively presented. Nice wine list. I'm not... More

I enjoyed the fare that I had at this restaurant. I liked the food so much that I requested of the manager that he send me the recipes. He did send them to me, too! (That was nice of him). On a different occasion, I went in for lunch (not knowing that they do not serve lunch). I then asked... More

Went there couple times, I really want to enjoy this place since the one in downtown LA is a bit of drive and parking is a problem. But the overall quality is not as good..

Roy's is our go-to place for special occasion celebrations. It's comfortable for a family with kids, but the food is really special -- lots of Hawaii inspired menu items featuring wonderful fresh seafood that are our favorites.

Great restaurant--fabulously prepared dishes at reasonable prices. HOWEVER, I have not had such luck at the ones in Pasadena or downtown LA. I had a fabulous chicken dish in Woodland Hills and ordered the same one in Pasadena--it came uncooked in the inside. Plus the Pasadena restaurant is horribly noisy and a bit claustrophobic.
