The restaurant is clean and bright. The build-your-own burger idea was a hit with our group - part of the fun was everyone brainstorming different combos. We had fried pickles and sweet potato fries for appetizers - both were good, not groundbreaking, but good. The burgers were yummy, as were the milkshakes (you can build your own milkshake too). Very good burgers, although not the best I've ever had. You have soooo much choice in the ingredients and this is their plus. Might be a bit crowded and noisy sometimes.

If you are a vegetarian or vegan don't be afraid to try this burger place for a great vegan burger. Of course you can get your burger on a bed of lettuce with lots of toppings too.

Had lunch here today with my husband. He's eaten at this location and the one at Santana Row, but was my first visit. Love the concept and loved my burger. My only complaint was with the speed at which the kitchen was getting food out. We arrived just past noon and were seated promptly. Our waiter also took our order... More

Have been to this one and to Palo Alto they are both very clean and friendly but because everything is A La Carte it ads up quickly. Family of 4 spending $80 on burgers fries etc is a bit much!

I stumbled upon this place after visiting Stanford. The restaurant was packed at 1:00 pm on a Friday but counter service was open and quick. The menu is 'create your own' burger, chicken, or veggie burger with a large array of options. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Priscilla, Mike the manager, and Mariana at the bar were all pleasant and... More

We just had dinner there today. We liked it. What was good: - The options are incredible - you need to google up half of them, but their staff can advise you as well! - They were busy - we got outdoor seating (after 20 min waiting) but it had a gas heater that kept us warm! :) - Their... More

I've never built a hamburger until my family went to The Counter in Palo Alto for dinner this weekend. They actually have a "construction" sheet that you check off how you want your burger designed and then they do it for you !!!Everything from type of bun to type of cheese, sauce, fixins, veggies on it, fresh spinach or avocado,... This restaurant is the perfect spot for dinner with family, friends or even eating alone. They have wonderful hamburgers, where you select everything about them. They can accomodate, vegans, gluten freebies, carnivores or just me. The food is delicious and atmosphere is fun. I know it is popular among students, but it should satisfy most anyone who is hungry
