We found ourselves in downtown Palo Alto a few weeks ago looking for a place to grab dinner. Most of the places were packed and had long waits. We were about ready to give up when we walked by La Strada and it was virtually empty. Never taking that as a positive sign, we reluctantly decided to give it a... More

La Strada is in a good location on a main street in downtown Palo Alto. After checking the outside menu we decided to give it a try for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere and decor are simple, but pleasing. They offer outdoor and indoor seating. One the first things we noticed was the wood-fired oven and the delicious... More

Had a meal here with a work colleague. I was so pleased the menu had so few items on the menu, it showed they wanted to get the food right, it was about taste and not quantity. The service was great and we sat outside. I had a veg starter and main, very tasty, I would eat here again.

Good service, good food, and good location! Reserved by a business partner for three of us to meet up at before an event at Stanford Faculty Club. Easy convenient parking on the street - free after 5 pm. We let them know we had a time constraint - they were right on it! Tasty pizza, our gluten free colleague had... More

The setting is nice, on University Avenue in Palo Alto, with outdoor seating. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. However, the food was only OK. My friend and I both ordered the spinach salad with prawns. The prawns were very good but came with heads intact (very European but not to my liking), but the salad was overdressed with... More

Ate alfresco on a Sunday. Great eggplant parmesan lunch with salad and dessert and good sausage pizza. Attentive wait staff. Will go back again.

We were jetlagged and desperate .we were unable to find a table at our regular mayfield cafe,so decided to try this place.the house salad and fried calamari starters were fine. The bread basket didn't taste fresh and the person serving waters did not look very clean. We ordered lasagna and wild mushroom pizza with truffle oil and buckwheat pasta. The... More

First of all: food was ok so far. but calling this restaurant as an Italian is an insult to any real Italian restaurant and they abuse the term Italian I ordered a bruschetta. but got pizza with mushrooms and partly tomatoes on that thin pizza slices. the taste was mexican style (a bit like a Burrito). Bruschetta is one of... More

Very pleasant to sit outside and watch everyone, heaters work! My waiter let me try my wine which was much appreciated. Food was excellent and nice wine selection. I was by myself and did not feel out of place at all.

The food was delicious and the location is even better. University is a wonderful street in Palo Alto for shopping and dining and the people watching from this location was great. I was there for lunch and look forward to trying dinner there very soon.
