This is the only place outside of Chicago where I've found a passable deep-dish pizza. And it is super-good. I've visited 5+ times and found the food consistent, the staff very friendly and knowledgeable, and the wait times a little shorter than advertised. They have a selection of traditional and non-traditional pizza combinations, and good salads and starters. But I... More

Went with a friend to split a medium Matt Cain [sausage & pepperoni] deep dish pizza with fresh jalapeno's added for a little kick.We spilt a large Caesar salad as tge pizza takes 30 minutes. Crisp, fresh heart of romaine lettuce with just the right amount of dressing. The anchovie fillets were the best. Firm, white, with skin, not the... More

I loved the cornmeal crust and the clean interior of the restaurant, but the pizza was way too saucy for my taste - the toppings were almost goopy. If I go back I'll ask them to go light on the sauce and toppings.

I've eaten chicago style pizza in chicago at the major chicago pizzerias. Patxi's is just as good as any of them. And while I'm a NYer and tend to lean that way I do appreciate a good chicago style pie. The only thing I thought our Special pizza lacked was some fresh basil on top which would have made great... This pizza was good. Fresh toppings and good crust. But it just isn't as good as I have had elsewhere. The tomato sauce topping was too sweet and watery. The crust was a bit too greasy as well. If you have never had Chicago deep dish pizza and this is the best you can get, it's okay. Very pricey as... More

Pam, thanks for your review, and we're sorry to hear you were let down. The sauce shouldn't be watery as you described; it's possible something went wrong. We realize it's a bit pricier than some others, but we also use only the highest-quality and freshest ingredients possible in our pizzas, and we feel this offers a good value to our... More

We have been dining at Patxi's for years - they specialize Chicago style deep dish, but they also have thin crust pizza. We get their vegetarian pizzas (veggie, or spinach pesto). They do whole wheat crusts & low fat cheese as well. Consider pre-ordering your pizza by phone to reduce the 30 minute wait for it to cook. Their sauce... More

I was in Palo Alto last Wednesday on business, and decided to grab a taste of Chicago-style pizza. The reviews for Patxi's looked good, and so did the pizza. But instead of eating in, I decided to take the pizza back to my hotel room for a more private meal. I ordered the pizza by phone, and was told it... More
