Really Good Pizza

I've eaten chicago style pizza in chicago at the major chicago pizzerias. Patxi's is just as good as any of them. And while I'm a NYer and tend to lean that way I do appreciate a good chicago style pie. The only thing I thought our Special pizza lacked was some fresh basil on top which would... read more

This pizza was good. Fresh toppings and good crust. But it just isn't as good as I have had elsewhere. The tomato sauce topping was too sweet and watery. The crust was a bit too greasy as well. If you have never had Chicago deep dish pizza and this is the best you can get, it's okay. Very pricey as... More

Pam, thanks for your review, and we're sorry to hear you were let down. The sauce shouldn't be watery as you described; it's possible something went wrong. We realize it's a bit pricier than some others, but we also use only the highest-quality and freshest ingredients possible in our pizzas, and we feel this offers a good value to our... More

We have been dining at Patxi's for years - they specialize Chicago style deep dish, but they also have thin crust pizza. We get their vegetarian pizzas (veggie, or spinach pesto). They do whole wheat crusts & low fat cheese as well. Consider pre-ordering your pizza by phone to reduce the 30 minute wait for it to cook. Their sauce... More

I was in Palo Alto last Wednesday on business, and decided to grab a taste of Chicago-style pizza. The reviews for Patxi's looked good, and so did the pizza. But instead of eating in, I decided to take the pizza back to my hotel room for a more private meal. I ordered the pizza by phone, and was told it... More

Be prepare to wait. We had to wait for 45 minutes to sit down. The place was completely packed! The place is clean and simple looking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As for the food, well I think I like normal pizza more, but nonetheless it was a good delicious pizza. Supper filling and oh so messy. Get... More

Chicago Pizza is unique. Very few restaurants outside the Chicago area can duplicate the famous pie. Patti's is one of those. I have been a faithful Patxi's customer since the restaurant opened in down town Palo Alto, several years ago. They now offer a pan pizza, similar to the deep dish but with only one layer of dough. It is... More

I lived in Chicago for a long time. And while visiting Palo Alto, I heard about this place. I stopped in and loved the atmosphere right from the start. It's downtown and I had no problem parking across the street. The place was busy but the service was extremely good, as was the food. I got "The Matt Cain" and... More

So I was taken to this place for the first time by my GF who goes there a couple times a month . My first impression was that they really push there drinks and they are expensive but the food when it arrived was really outstanding . I enjoyed the piazza a lot .

We arrived in Palo Alto on a Saturday after a full day of travel from the East coast. We were hungry and a bit tired. We were seated promptly at 5:00. The menu is extensive with several different types of pizza to choose including thin crust, deep dish, etc... We ordered a few drinks and were told by the waiter... More
