I don't often go to Ming's on Embarcadero near 101, as it is out of the way from my residence in Sunnyvale. I do remember often going to Ming's for lunch with my workplace employees up in Menlo Park. Ming's is very good for large parties of 50+ people, as they have a huge capacity of over 500 people. Our... More

Had dinner here with my family and we found something on the menu for my vegetarian nephew and his girlfriend, my mom who is on a low residue diet and myself who likes fish and veggies. I've been to Ming many times in the past and the food is consistently good, flavorful and hot. The menu has been updated and... More

I rarely write reviews but Ming's deserves my time for this. Ming's may be the worst restaurant I have been in in 5 years. From the unsmiling and surly hostess, to the cheesy signs posted all over the place, to the bleak atmosphere of the place, and culminating in the uniquely awful dim sum, this one takes first prize for... We went to Ming's for a family meal before my brother-in-law went back home to Georgia. The restaurant was quiet and the food was good. We had a good selection and he has able to experience California Chinese food.

There are lots of great Asian restaurants in Santa Clara Valley area. Mings works hard to deliver a quality dinner and dim sum. However, it is not the best in an area of very good Chinese restaurants. They are upscale however and if you want good service and ok but good Chinese food, it is a good place to go.... More

Ming's is where I used to go to with my family while growing up in the Bay Area, hence why every time I go back home to visit my parents, we always go to Ming's. It's probably because it's the closest dim sum to our home. Regardless, I've grown to love it. It's quality dim sum with real attentive service... More

Went to Ming's last week for dim sum. Being it's an icon at a prime location, specially for the price , I had expected high quality dim sum … Boy, wasn't I overly disappointed to say the least - for example their sio mai was extremely fatty, har gow was too fishy, kylan was old and cold, etc. This means... Ming's is our go-to place for Chinese food when in San Jose.. It's not blow-your-mind-good, but good-enough-comfort-Chinese-cooking that makes you think about it when you're looking for a Chinese meal whilst being so far away from home. Lobster Noodles is always ordered and enjoyed..

Stopped here for lunch after birding nearby Shoreline Park. The menu included all the standard Chinese favorites, with a good selection of vegetarian offerings. There is a separate Dim Sum area that we did not check out. I gather that their reputation is mainly due to the latter. No complaints, but nothing special. Good food and service.

Spacious restaurant with round tables, red lanterns and firecracker decor. Excellent food including salad (Asian chicken is what everyone gets), meat (special beef and the half duck), veggies (mixed, mushrooms), and pan fried chow mein. Strong Mai Tais and nice warm tea. We will definitely return!
