Ming's is our go-to place for Chinese food when in San Jose.. It's not blow-your-mind-good, but good-enough-comfort-Chinese-cooking that makes you think about it when you're looking for a Chinese meal whilst being so far away from home. Lobster Noodles is always ordered and enjoyed..

Stopped here for lunch after birding nearby Shoreline Park. The menu included all the standard Chinese favorites, with a good selection of vegetarian offerings. There is a separate Dim Sum area that we did not check out. I gather that their reputation is mainly due to the latter. No complaints, but nothing special. Good food and service.

Spacious restaurant with round tables, red lanterns and firecracker decor. Excellent food including salad (Asian chicken is what everyone gets), meat (special beef and the half duck), veggies (mixed, mushrooms), and pan fried chow mein. Strong Mai Tais and nice warm tea. We will definitely return!

The restaurant looks a bit outdated but you can tell that back then, it was a posh place for a chinese restaurant. The dim sum lack the variety that I seek (such as durian puffs). The taste is on the sweeter side to please more americanized palate. The food is not oily, so that's a plus, but at the same... More

We have been to Ming's several times over the past few years, for dim sum, which is served from carts from 11am onwards through the lunch hour, possibly 7 days of the week (check their website). The location is great, very close to the Embarcadero exit off the 101 (although Palo Alto residents can take Bayshore and avoid the highway).... More

Ming's Restaurant is located right off of a busy street. I was there for a wedding reception, so I cannot comment on the actual restaurant as an actual customer. I can say the food was awesome! The service was awesome as well. I was impressed to the point of where I would call it upscale, but it was a quality... More

We were told the place is good for dim sum. We had a party in the private room in the back. The place is amazingly roomy bright and spacious. The party menu is very elaborate. The food is tasty. The service is good

We enjoyed a great lunch today at Ming's Restaurant. Place was packed. Every table full. The dim sum cart ladies came to our table right away. Tea and ice water was served immediately. Lots of attentive staff were everywhere, unlike some restaurants where you have to send up flares to get help. The food was authentic dim sum, and really... More

Perfectly good dim sum. If you can't go up to the city or down to Cupertino this is a good choice for a family dim sum experience.

This is the WORST Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The wraps for the mu shu pork were cold, dry and tasted like cardboard, the actual pork had something in it no amount of chewing could dissolve and I actually had a horrific stomach ache when we left. The plum sauce was set directly on top of the wraps -... More
