We were on our way to have lunch at the Creamery and walked by Osteria. I've walked by the restaurant many times over the past several years so we decided to finally try it and were we happy we did. It's a charming restaurant. My husband had the special, grilled sole with vegetables and I had the minestrone soup and... More

I was looking for a date night restaurant with really good food and reasonably priced. This place was recommended by a friend and was spot on. I had the Medallions of Lamb in Marsala sauce. The lamb was so tender I could cut it with my fork... It's simply melted in my mouth and the Marsala sauce was the best... More

If you are looking for some good Italian food in Palo Alto osteria is definitely the pace to go! It is always busy and can be quite noisy but the fresh dishes are excellent! It is also very affordable and you can get a great dinner for two with 2 glasses of wine for under $60! Been there 3 times... More

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. Generally, I don't mind so-so service and think that food is much more important. In this case, the food did not make up for the service. Throughout the night we were virtually ignored, which was not a huge deal. Then the bill came and was wrong. My fiance went to talk to the servers about the bill,... More

Have gone here several times per year for about 20 years. The lamb medallions are worth a special trip. The vegetables accompanying each dish are often prepared so well that you'll be tempted to eat them first. Pasta dishes are first-rate as well.

We like the interior, the waiter who speaks Italian with us, and the good food that really resembles the Italian kitchen in Italy. And the Moretti beer underscores this impression.

It has an excellent menu and the food is consistently good. Have never had a bad meal there. Go there every time I am in the area.

Seeking a light late dinner we wandered around downtown Palo Alto and stopped in what we thought was an ordinary Italian Restaurant for a pasta with light sauce. Wrong! It was terrific and we ate more than we should. The service was without peer and the food easily matched that level. The cost was lighter and we tipped heavier. Don't... More

This is a great little ital place that gives everything it can. There are better looking choices on University Ave, but if you want to eat and enjoy, this is the place. Great atmosphere (gee, a bit like italy) and excellent preparations. Good wine list. Take the family or make it a night out with the one you love...you will... More

Our family went with a friend on a week night (Wednesday), relatively early around 6:15 pm without a reservation and was warmly greeted, and seated immediately. (Amy has been trying to get me to go to Osteria with her for years ... and just due to timing or closures never made it until now.) We ordered for family style dinning.... More
