The best Italian food!!

They also serve it hot on hot plates, something the foam-based phony restaurants can't figure out. The specials are excellent as are the menu items. Go!

My husband and I wanted a great start to 2015, so we decided to have dinner at one of our absolute favorite restaurants... Osteria! The food quality is wonderful, consistent, and always served steaming hot. Our must have starter is their Carpaccio. We typically share their butter lettuce salad. The dressing on this salad is fantastic. Our favorite entrée is... More

University Avenue and Palo Alto in general has a lot of restaurants to choose from, but this particular one stands out to me more than any other. I enjoy the atmosphere and its delightful Italian menu, where the pastas take home the price; they are really plain but absolutely delicious. I think I've tried at least 5 of their different... We had dinner here a few weeks prior to Christmas. We had reservations and when we arrived, our party of three was seated at a table that was clearly meant for two. We could have waited, but it was already 7:30 and the place was packed so we decided to squeeze in at our table. It was so tight that... More

We were on our way to have lunch at the Creamery and walked by Osteria. I've walked by the restaurant many times over the past several years so we decided to finally try it and were we happy we did. It's a charming restaurant. My husband had the special, grilled sole with vegetables and I had the minestrone soup and... More

I was looking for a date night restaurant with really good food and reasonably priced. This place was recommended by a friend and was spot on. I had the Medallions of Lamb in Marsala sauce. The lamb was so tender I could cut it with my fork... It's simply melted in my mouth and the Marsala sauce was the best... More

If you are looking for some good Italian food in Palo Alto osteria is definitely the pace to go! It is always busy and can be quite noisy but the fresh dishes are excellent! It is also very affordable and you can get a great dinner for two with 2 glasses of wine for under $60! Been there 3 times... More

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. Generally, I don't mind so-so service and think that food is much more important. In this case, the food did not make up for the service. Throughout the night we were virtually ignored, which was not a huge deal. Then the bill came and was wrong. My fiance went to talk to the servers about the bill,... More

Have gone here several times per year for about 20 years. The lamb medallions are worth a special trip. The vegetables accompanying each dish are often prepared so well that you'll be tempted to eat them first. Pasta dishes are first-rate as well.

We like the interior, the waiter who speaks Italian with us, and the good food that really resembles the Italian kitchen in Italy. And the Moretti beer underscores this impression.
