Lost some appeal.

I use to like this place. The food was good, but changes they have made makes this a not to go to place anymore. Wait staff is average and the food lacks that something special I expect when I went there before. Just bland Italian food. Food is not worth the price. Also it was very crowded... read more

I recently had lunch there mid-week and had the Caesar salad and the spinach and cheese ravioli. The salad was only ok but it did have anchovies which were good. The ravioli was disappointing. Over cooked and the sauce was bland. Definitely not worth the $17.00 price. Won't be going back anytime soon. The only positive was the service.

Instead of americanized italian food, the dishes here are true to the italian tradition. Service is nice and efficiant. Wines are good and non too expensive.

Evidently the ownership of the restauarant has changed, with dire results. Yes, the interior was cleaned up, but the rest of the experience was a disaster. For some reason they furloughed or reduced the employment of much of the old excellent staff in favor of no-nothings. At the front of the house, ignorance reigns. New dishes, with smaller capacity have... More

We had dinner at Osteria on June 03rd to celebrate my wife's birthday and the graduation of my grand daughter from middle school. The food, service and atmosphere were first rate. Large fresh saldads were followed by traitional entres prepared and served piping hot and deliscious to the taste. I had chicken parmigama, my son a veal dish, and everyone... More

This restaurant has very poor service. There are much better places in the area with great service and similar prices.

We hadn't been here in about ten years and I'm not really sure why. We liked it last time and while this time was not quite up to last time it was a very nice date night. The ambience is cozy. Several have mentioned how it is TOO cozy but I think they have actually spread out a bit. The... More

Best Italian restaurant in Palo Alto. The carpaccio is excellent, so is the hearts of palm salad. My favorite main dish is the vongole with red sauce. The air gets a little stuffy, thus your clothes tend to smell after dining here. Good to visit with your family, friends, and as a couple.

Although the space is crowded and noisy, it is still worth a visit. The staff is exceptionally excellent and friendly.. And most capable! The food is wonderful and portions are ample. Guess what? They also serve it hot on hot plates, something the foam-based phony restaurants can't figure out. The specials are excellent as are the menu items. Go!
