I hadn't been here since the restaurant relocated and was pleasantly surprised at the new, larger and very nice site. St Michaels Alley was an excellent choice to celebrate a friends birthday. We made reservations and the table reserved for us was perfect - in a corner with a view of the street. Service was quick waitstaff experienced and very... More

I was here for a conference reception and dinner afterwards. The reception food was very good and well served. The dinner menu was great. I really enjoyed the selection of California seafood that night. It is a small restaurant, so our party took over the whole place.

Although we had tried to book several days ahead for the holiday weekend there was nothing available but they suggested we come along as all the outside and bar seating cannot be reserved so first come first served. The restaurant is charming: inside the main room, which is not large, inside the separate bar area and outside on the front... More

Our group had dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy and fun. We had a great table in the dining room but the bar area is great too. The service was excellent from the reception staff to the waiter. We ordered a variety of first courses including wild mushroom cake and artichoke tart -- very good. We... More

Real nice, classy restaurant. Great food and top-notch service. California vibe and nice local wines on the list. Lamb and salmon are delicious. Price, but still, highly recommended.

The restaurant is within walking distance to downtown. Our service was very good but reserved. The menu was extensive enough to please most and the portions were just right. The way they have the seating arranged in this converted house makes for an intimate dining experience. It was very pleasant. All the dishes we were served were quite good. We'll... More

My favorite restaurant in Palo Alto. It is one of the few restaurants I have been to where I want to order everything on the menu and the specials. There is something for everyone and it is all delicious.

The ambience of this place is so welcoming it feels like coming to someone's elegant home. The staff is warm, helpful and attentive. They keep things moving along but we never felt rushed. The menu items offer enough variety to accommodate arrange of tastes. The scallops and salmon were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We'll be back many times.

My wife and I have been going to St. Michael's Alley for over 25 years...both in their previous and current locations, and it's always been one of our favorite places. The old venue had more of a bistro feel--consisting of one pretty crowded room--while the new restaurant is broken up into several rooms, all of which provide guests with a... More

Showed up at 9 without a reservation and got a table quickly. Service was great and the food was delicious. Good wine list. Will surely go back.
