Very relaxing place in the very fast pace of the silicon valley

In Palo Alto there are a lot of good restaurants, and if you are ready to pay enough you have also excellent food. This restaurant is definitely in the 2nd category. However, what it makes it unique is the very intimate and calm atmosphere that make it perfect to relax. Service is great.

I hadn't been at St Michael's Alley in ages, and rediscovered it last week. Compared to other top restaurants in Palo Alto, for instance Evvia and Tamarine, this place feels a bit more authentic and laid back, while the quality is similar (maybe better, hard to tell after one visit). The crowd was a bit on the older side when... More

Café style brunch location with excellent atmosphere. The soups are delicious and the salade nicoise was the best I ever had. Freshly made tuna, and a good mix of salad, avocado, good olives and tasty potato salade.

Attractive decor spread over several rooms. Noise level varies substantially among them. Choose room away from the entry area if you want quiet. Menu changes considerably. We viewed offerings on the internet and found a quite different menu when we visited two days later. Food was imaginative and generally quite good. Service, while accommodating and skilled, was very slow.

Nestled in downtown Palo Alto this quaint restaurant caters to those who have a discerning palate. The menu is varied with fresh seasonal items. The serve is wonderful, very attentive and polite. Great place also to have a cocktail and kickback.

went to a private dinner and was wowed. Great atmosphere but even better service. With a group of 50 you can expect spotty service but not here. Bar tenders were superb, wait staff outstanding and great food to boot. Would defiantly go back.

We rolled into Palo Alto for the annual Stanford Jazz Workshop the first week of August! While in town we checked Trip Advisor for suggestions and St. Michael's Alley popped up. This was a 5 star find! From the talented and lovely bar keeper to the pragmatic and sophisticated wait staff, this wonderful corner spot fairly close to Stanford was... More

Great food and wine list, but gets quite noisy. Nice ambiance. Cool little street that it is on; really out of the way but locals know all about it!

Went with another couple for brunch. We chose this place based on the good reviews in trip advisor but were very disappointed. From the picture it looks like there is beautiful outdoor dining but the tables are awkwardly arranged on the street and were most uninviting. The food was mediocre to bad. I had a grilled eggplant sandwich and the... More

If you are looking for good food then you should try st. Michael' s alley. Their weekend brunch is amazing and their place is always full. They don't take brunch reservation as its first come first serve, so you have to go and put your name on their list. It is worth the wait.
