Description: Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light but flavor-intensive culinary delicacies of Vietnam. The restaurant offers a menu based on small plates, promoting the Vietnamese tradition of the 'shared' meal in which food is shared and enjoyed with those close. Tamarine's small plate entrees are enjoyed with the pairing of a variety of aromatic, flavor infused rice, designed to be mixed and matched to create a truly unique flavor experience. Along with culinary delicacies of Vietnam, the restaurant showcases the works of emerging artists from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Semi-annual exhibits will close with a cocktail event to auction the art. Proceeds will be donated to La Maison Chance, an orphanage in Saigon, Vietnam.

We've been at Tamarine as part of a larger crowd and the restaurant has organized a set menu for us. The quality of the food and level of detail was convincing and a great experience. Service was on point and the overall setting of the place did in total leave us with a wonderful evening.

One of the nicest places to eat on University Avenue, the food is interesting and delicious, service attentive. It is not cheap, but worth the money for both a business lunch/dinner or a nice night out with family and friends, nobody will be disappointed.

I've taken clients here twice now and it's a winner. The food is outstanding, as is the service. It's easy to talk though it does get busy--a reservation is a must! Bonus...there is a parking garage behind the restaurant, because generally speaking parking is horrible in PA.

We chanced upon this resto located in Palo Alto. It was a tuesday night but it was packed and since we had no reservations, we sat on the bar which was not a bad place since we were entertained by the business of the bartenders. A commotion occured when the bartender accidentally spilled a bottle of red wine on a... More

Over a month ago our college son's freshman room mate's parents reserved a table for 8 for the night preceding the graduation of the two boys. Two nights before the planned dinner, when every decent restaurant in Palo Alto had been booked for weeks or months, the restaurant called to announce that they had decided on a fixed price fixed... Make sure you get a reservation as this place is always packed. Elegant dining and great food. My favorite dishes include the crab soup, Empress rice and beef noodles

Tamarine is an upscale Vietnamese restaurant with a varied and delicious menu. The restaurant is relatively small and though we had reservations, our party of three wound up seated at the community style high table that runs down the center of the restaurant between the bar and table area. We started with Taro Root Rolls and Banh Mi Roti. Spicing... More

Tasty dishes and an interesting and varied menu, hard to choose as all the food is so good. Clay pot Cod is a must. Food is perfect and never fails to please. However, the restaurant is very noisy and customers lively. You will need a reservation as it is a very popular restaurant.

Tamarine has the best "upscale" Vietnamese food in the Bay Area. It is far superior to the cuisine at the vastly overrated Slanted Door in the Ferry Building in SF. The food is always perfectly prepared and attractively served. The pairings are creative and very well matched. In short, the food is superb! However, be prepared for high prices for... More
