Description: Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light but flavor-intensive culinary delicacies of Vietnam. The restaurant offers a menu based on small plates, promoting the Vietnamese tradition of the 'shared' meal in which food is shared and enjoyed with those close. Tamarine's small plate entrees are enjoyed with the pairing of a variety of aromatic, flavor infused rice, designed to be mixed and matched to create a truly unique flavor experience. Along with culinary delicacies of Vietnam, the restaurant showcases the works of emerging artists from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Semi-annual exhibits will close with a cocktail event to auction the art. Proceeds will be donated to La Maison Chance, an orphanage in Saigon, Vietnam.

Having just spent some time in Vietnam a few months ago, I can say that this restaurant is more Asian fusion with a Vietnamese emphasis, rather than true Vietnamese food. That being said, it is what it is--I don't think the restaurant holds itself out as a true Vietnamese restaurant. Overall the food here was very good. I ordered a... More

Stopped in Tamarine on my first trip to PA. Great spot, super great vibe, and wonderful service. We had reservations and arrived early. We grabbed a drink at the bar and then were quickly seated. Even though the bar was crowded, the bartender grabbed our drink order quickly. Once at our cozy, awesome table--our server quickly greeted us. We dove... More

This is our go to restaurant & the food is always great. We love their appetizers, soups & salads & leave room for a desert.

I absolutely love coming back to Tamarine again and again. I like having drinks at the bar along with small plates and then take a walk at University avenue. We always experiment with new dishes and given we like to share food, it is always a good experience. The sea bass is super!

As frequent visitors to the Palo Alto area, my wife and I have an opportunity to eat at the area's finest restaurants on a regular basis. That always included Tarmarine. This is no PF Chang's. I have grown a little tired of Asian fusion, except here. Every dish is unique, and the combinations of flavors and textures are extraordinary. So... More

Ordered Tamarine jumbo prawns. I have to say that this dish was delicious. Loved how they used tamrind in the dish to make it tangy. The prawns were served over thin crispy noodles which went perfectly with the dish. Fantastic service and excellent ambiance. Definitely worth the price for the food.

Girls night out to celebrate a birthday & we had a wonderful time at Tamarine! We decided to do family style so we can try different dishes. You pretty much can't go wrong with any of their dishes. We ordered several appetizers and main dishes; my favorites were the Shrimp Toasts, Tamarine Prawns, Brussel Sprouts, and the Lemongrass Sea bass.... More

Tamarine is a great example of how panache, marketing, and location can inflate the reputation of a business that would otherwise be considered slightly above average. (Smart owners, though.) This restaurant is more of a "see and be seen" type of place for clientele who are not as discerning about the culinary origins and authenticity of ethnic food. My wife... More

I made a reservation for a business dinner at Tamarine for its location and notable regulars such as Steve Jobs and Jerry Yang. I was told it was very expensive but worth the visit and to make reservations ahead of time. Good thing I made reservations, because the place fills up completely with a wait on Wednesday nights. The service... More

It has been a while since we were there but it is still excellent food. Service is good and the ambiance good. They have a quiet area and a more vibrant area in which you can dine. The beef and prawns were simply wonderful as was the calamari appetizer with a cilantro sauce. The garlic noodles are simply outstanding. Very... More
