Description: Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light...
Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light but flavor-intensive culinary delicacies of Vietnam. The restaurant offers a menu based on small plates, promoting the Vietnamese tradition of the 'shared' meal in which food is shared and enjoyed with those close. Tamarine's small plate entrees are enjoyed with the pairing of a variety of aromatic, flavor infused rice, designed to be mixed and matched to create a truly unique flavor experience. Along with culinary delicacies of Vietnam, the restaurant showcases the works of emerging artists from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Semi-annual exhibits will close with a cocktail event to auction the art. Proceeds will be donated to La Maison Chance, an orphanage in Saigon, Vietnam.

Tamarine is one of the best restaurants in Palo Alto and probably on the SF Peninsula

This is a really good restaurant, with innovative food, a terrific wine list and a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The food is Vietnamese based fusion, on par with the Slanted Door in SF. But the atmosphere here is more refined. It is a perfect place for a quiet dinner or a business dinner. The... read more

Everything was excellent. We ate family style so we were able to sample several dishes. Loved the sea bass. We also enjoyed the tofu entre and clay pot veggies. Sweet potato fries are also a good pick. Very nice food presentation.

We enjoyed the tuna tartare, shrimp spring rolls, curried long beans, and taro root rolls but found the entrees more interesting. The claypot cod was a small serving but very flavorful. The shaking beef tenderloin and hoisin lamb chops were particularly good. The only big disappointment was the coconut butter prawns and their soggy batter. The tapioca dessert was a... More

Incredible food and favors and impeccable service. Tamarine is a place we will definitely come back to for special occasions. We shared the calamari, tuna tartare, beef entree, lemongrass fish, chicken, some incredible Brussels sprouts ( how often do you read that sentence?) and had some wonderful wine. Aside from the tables being crammed in a bit to fit everyone... More

I had lunch here last week and it was delicious. I shared 4 dishes with a friend and each one was really great. We were there for 3 hours taking our time having a leisurely lunch. Service was great.

Tamarine consistently is an outstanding restaurant. They are vegetarian & vegan friendly, waiters/waitresses are knowledgeable about such options, & the menu is marked clearly for vegetarians. The non-entree food portions are not large & the quality is always very good. We always enjoy the food here, & there is a revolving menu, so you will find new items all the... More

Very good food and attentive service. Fairly quiet; you can easily carry on conversation or do business. Relatively expensive but a good place for either lunch or dinner

The food was really delicious, and especially creative. We had a ton of different dishes between the three of us of which we were curious "how on earth would that combine well?" - but it was always great. They have an excellent wine collection, but don't make the mistake of getting one of the cheaper ones as we did (because... More

Whenever my team is in town, this is our go-to place for dinners. Anything short of this, they have temper tantrums and sulk. Making a reservation, no matter what day, time, week, is always a challenge so call early. We always get the Tamarine tasting platter and if you ask nicely, they can expand the servings to accommodate table size.... More
